stopping Fasenra due to side effects
I was on
Nucala
and thanks to a post here learned it took about four months to leave the system, which was in fact what happened. I have had enough of biologics, whilst I think they are a good thing my body just doesn't seem to!

Changes in type of asthma
So when the information arrived l was surprised to see it was for
Nucala
(mepolizumab) not xolair as previously discussed, when l questioned this they said my markers had changed over time and now l was classed as having severe refractory eosinophilic asthma, hence the change in injections.

Nucala and extreme back pain and muscle tightness
I had my first dose November 2021 and started noticing back pain around Christmas. Began severe back pain after my 3rd injection in January 2022. Also had an injection in February and March. I will not be taking any more. I really feel this is where this is coming from. I have had no injury. This

Depression, Anxiety, Worry, PTSD, and Mother's Senior Care (2nd Opinion)
She is given a "
Nucala
" shot which causes her entire body's skin to regenerate (nails fall off, and her skin bleeds and regenerates). I have seen my mother go through so much pain, everyday. I disagree entirely with her medical treatment. She has not gotten better. She has gotten worse.

Is it normal to feel worse after Nucala injection?
I started the monthly
Nucala
injections in November 2021. So I’ve had 2 so far. I can’t feel any improvement whatsoever at this point.

Nucala -so far so good
I have been on
Nucala
for 3 months after having pneumonia twice in two years and uncontrollable asthma even with Dulera. My eosinophils went from 3400 to 60 and feeling much better. Has worked wonders for me 😊

Newly Diagnosed
Currently on 10 mg prednisone plus 3 injections of
Nucala
once a month. Foot drop has improved but numbness and weakness have remained. I have my moments of despair but also know that life is difficult and I must remain positive and pro-active.

Nucala and back pain
I have been on
Nucala
for over a year and it has helped my asthma and I was able to stop Prednisone (finally). I have tremendous lower back pain (MRI did not show anything but mild arthritis )...I think this may be one of the side effects but it is very painful. Uninary Tract infections also.

corticosteroid injections for treatment of severe persistent asthma
The main injections for asthma are: benralizumab (Fasenra) omalizumab (Xolair) mepolizumab (
Nucala
) reslizumab (Cinqaero) These medicines are not suitable for everyone with asthma and can only be prescribed by an asthma specialist.

Biologics (mAbs) - what are they and how do they work? 🤔
MEPOLIZUMAB/
NUCALA
In England this is typically the first eos mAb you’ll be put on. Mepo works by blocking interleukin-5 (IL-5) which is responsible for the maturation and release of eosinophils in the bone marrow.

Has anyone with EGPA (Churg Strauss Syndrome ) tried Nucala shots? I have been on 3, 10mg shots for 10 months and have not needed prednisone
I have also been able to wean off my azathioprine. My blood tests and been great. It has greatly lowered the esinophils.

Need help understanding living with asthma.
When talking to my respirologist, he seems to want to go further into the medication route by suggesting I try
Nucala
(biologic) since I have a high IgE blood count. I find myself resisting that direction as well. I have family members that also have asthma but they do not take a daily controller.

Nucala and CBD Interactions?
Has anyone that is taking
Nucala
inquired about drug interactions with CBD products? I was given some Designer Sour Gummy Bears that are 250mg Hemp CBD for Halloween. I haven't take one yet, wondering if there might be any "issues"? I haven't had access to the Pharmacy or my Doctor until Monday.
