I'm an adult male, who has been on the Nucala brand biologic abdominal injections since Nov, 2021. Besides the usual/potential fatigue, headaches and body aches listed, have experienced noticeable hair loss. This became obvious after about the 4th to 5th injection.
Anyone else out there on Nucala or another injectable biologic, experiencing higher than normal hair loss?
Also, if responding and don't mind, please indicate your injection site and length of time on Nucala. Was told the abdominal area is the most effective, but not an option for some, so the upper thigh was the next best site.
Thanks, SJL2

Thanks, how long were you on Nucala and if you don't mind, what injection site(s)? My dr. office recommended the abdominal area as opposed to top of the thigh or arm. Most folks (male & female) who reported hair loss, said it started after the 4th to 5th injection... Thanks again, SJL2
I was on Nucala for about nine months til I could stand the side effects no longer . My cons insisted it was due to steroids but after four months for it to leave my system I was fine. makes me so cross that the doctors will not accept the side effects. I am now on Fasenra, so far no difference. I take that the same way in the abdominal area.
Both the manufacturer and my dr are saying that there just is not enough conclusive evidence of hair loss, but are adding it to patient feedback...when in fact I found forums, including in Europe where people on Nucala are asking about/discussing suffering hair loss after 4 to 5 injections... Thx again!
For many years, I have been suffering from chronic sinus infection, eczema and asthma due to environmental allergies. I have been on Dupixent for over 2 years. Dupixent got rid of nasal polyps and my asthma was under control. But for the past 6-8 months, I have experienced severe headache, blurry vision and joint pain. One of the many side effects of Dupixent is Blepharitis, headache and joint pain. My rheumatologist told me to stop Dupixent until farther notice just to see if my condition improve. It did. My headache had calm down. I'm on ocusoft for Blepharitis and Xiidra for dry eyes which i believed are side effects of Dupixent.
My allergist is switching my med from Dupixent to Nucala. My concern is Nucala may have the same side effects as Dupixent. I'm undecided whether to take Nucala my concern is the side effects that I had experienced with Dupixent.
No hair loss.
Does anyone have the same experience either Dupixent or Nucala? Thanks.
Hi! I am grateful that I saw this post because I started losing hair after the first injection. I also had an outbreak of mouth ulcers with each injection. After 4 injections, I am switching to Fasenra. My doctor said she has not heard of hair loss reports but clearly it is a side effect! Thank you for sharing.
