Feel total rubbish
I feel absolutely awful today, not sure if it's the new Dmard Azathioprine, or returning to taking
NSAIDs
Naproxen, or both!

Another plea for abatacept experience
I had always maintained my RA with
NSAIDs
with the occasional cortisone jab, but in the last four years, I have tried embrel, leflunomide, toxillizumab and now abatacept.

Is it just me or is all this completely frustrating!?
Since then I've been started on Hydroxychloroquine, Prednisolone and Meloxicam (after trying various other
NSAIDs
e.g. Naproxyn etc). I've now been taking the Prednisolone for nearly 2 months and after it seeming like a miracle cure for a couple of weeks things have got a whole lot worse again.

The non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (
NSAIDs
, for example, ibuprofen) are useful if tolerated and are particularly effective if there is an inflammatory element in the pain. Unfortunately chronic pain often responds less well to traditional pain killers than would be hoped.

Living with PMR with no prednisone
He also went ahead and gave me hydrocodone pain pills (I cannot take
NSAIDS
at all due to side effects). I take very few, mostly when it's getting to almost be time for a shot. Right now, this is working for me and I can continue to work.

Heads up, Medical advice - nebulisers and NSAIDs
May need to keep an eye on posts by Lola as she has replied to a new younger member asking in 'Medical > Ventolin!?' http://tinyurl.com/7kfru8n about their newly started steroid inhaler and recommended asking OOH/GP about nebulisers as they helped her when waiting for preventer to kick in? I have replied

What Happens With RA, Without Necessaary Treatment:
This has angered me over the past few days, as so many times over the years,I have said I wished I had had the
NSAIDs
, DMARDs and the Biologics that are now available. Maybe I would not have had 8 spine surgeries, three other hand surgeries, 2 knee replacements, etc.

Has anyone become sensitive to ibuprofen etc when they used to be ok with it?
I am so hoping it's not that as
NSAIDs
work really well for me when I need them! Not that often but it's good when my ribs play up.

Just out of Curiosity, what age did you feel you started with Lupus signs and symptoms? Age of diagnosis?
My I add that I was told to take
NSAIDS
, regular exercise and that was it? From Nov 2009 to June 2010 I was so poorly and was undergoing a series of tests at the hospital. My GP thought that I was pre menopausal.

Pain management
Like many I also can't take
NSAIDS
. This morning I am between posting roaming around the house trying desperatly to cope with the agony in my back. I am lucky in that they tend to be small and as a rule pass alone without the need for zapping.

Advice on superficial phylebiti & Ibuprofen gel
I've got superficial phylebitis. I've had it a few weeks now. Unfortunately it got infected so i had to take a course of antibiotics. It was so painful last friday i had to go to A&E where they tested me for DVT. Luckily it came back clear but the only way it can clear up quicker is by taking anti-inflammatorys

Spirometry
I have allergies to perfume, chemicals,
nsaids
and other things. Anyway, at my recent annual review, I admitted to using ventolin every day, otherwise I would not be able to walk up the hill to the shops at lunch time or take my dog for a walk.
