Oncologist and prostate surgeon conflicting treatment
Dad 73yrs has recurrent PC. 5 pelvic lymph nodes with hormone sensitive PC detected via rising PSA after 1.5yrs at undetectable then psma scan confirmed it was now in pelvic lymph nodes. He had his prostate removed a few years before, negative margins and just unlucky. In September last year Oncologist

Are PSMA negative mets usually castrate resistant?
I had 2 clear PSMA-PETs (at a PSA of 2 & then 4) so Dr. Scholz recommended I get an FDG PET. Low and behold 3 decent sized mets showed up. In my subsequent research it seems like all the published articles describe the PSMA negative mets as being castrate resistant. Zytiga/Lupron was effective before

Value of LDH
I've been dealing with PCA 11 years and I've seen a number of doctors along the way but never have discussed or had my LDH tested. A young oncologist where I had my PSMA scan requested PSA, testosterone and LDH tests to go along with the scan. My LDH was at the low end of the "range" (but we still didn't

Tear in Tendon
hi Has anybody with Psa had any problems with tears in their tendons ? I have just had an ultrasound and found to have a torn tendon in the rotator cuff/bursa area of my shoulder, I have had a pain with trouble sleeping in that area for quite a while so my rheumy decided to send me for the ultrasound

I have or had stage four prostate cancer in my lungs. PSA at 6.0. Started taking Taxomere and Lupron treatments.. my PSA levels went from 6 to 1 to 0.2. I still have three more treatments to go.. Hope this gives hope to people. The taxomere seems to work fairly well.

Question
Husband had 3-mo. blood work yesterday and I was checking for results on portal when I noticed MO had notation for 7/11 appointment: "Creatine (ISTAT) radiology to draw." Have no idea why it's there, seems like something to do with a scan, but she knows he can't tolerate scans and has refused them lately

Hello everyone...
It was in August 2022 that my primary care became alarmed after my PSA returned, and it was 77 plus, that I likewise became alarmed by the fact that I must deal with prostate cancer. As a result, I tried hormone therapy for six months and thought about killing myself if I did not die first from the

Diagnostic VS Symtomatic PSA Results
Sometimes my PSA results are labeled “Symptomatic” and sometimes “Diagnostic” are the results comparable?

PSMA PET Scan Question
I heard on a PCa support group call, from a retired MD, that if your PSA is below 0.1 a PSMA PET scan isn’t useful because it requires a certain level of the PSA to find metastases. Does anyone know if that’s true or is it more of a wives tale or just anecdotal? Thanks!

hip or hernia pain
hello. I have a diagnosis of psa and am prescribed Taltz. I have had right side groin pain for 18 months. Extensive testing has shown mild degenerative changes in my hip joint and an osteophyte. Ortho consultant doesn’t believe this is the source of the pain. An indirect inguinal hernia has been found

mCRPC. Total PSA is up from 1.2 to 2.1 in 2 months, but free PSA went to 14% from 5%. Can this be hyperplasia, or in ADT any PSA up is PCa?

Another positive lymph node
Hi all, Quick recap: My dad was diagnosed in 2002 at age 52 with 3+4 pca. Surgical removal at Mayo. 2003 (one year to the date of surgery) PSA was detectable and he had radiation at Mayo. Fast forward 2015, psa detectable again, put on Lupron. C-11 choline scans every 3 months, appt. with Dr. Kwon

T level test
Having my first PSA test since IMRT in a few weeks. (last ADT/Lupron was early February. 90 day. Salvage IMRT Radiation ended Early January. Is there a reason my doc didn't order T level test to coincide with the PSA? Seems like you would track increases or Nadirs etc, having them tested the same time

Low psa, but have pca
Is there anyone else out there who had a normal PSA,but has prostate cancer. After MRI showing a lesion and in biopsy they see two spots of Gleason 6 cancer, one in each side of prostate. Even though it's a Gleason 6, urologist at top teaching hospital in Philadelphia says I need a radical prostatectomy
