Post Brain Surgery Anxiety
Hi everyone, I’m new here and just over 9 weeks post Brain op. I had keyhole surgery to drain a tangerine size cyst in my 4th Ventricle caused by Hydrocephalus. I’m thankfully now recovering well and living independently again with my housemates in London. Im sure I’m not alone in this but I keep constantly

Grrrrr PIP 😳
I have to do a letter for the PIP Appeal evidence. How am I going to detail how my “disability” affects me! Two brain surgeries, left with chronic pain and fatigue. Throw in the daily struggle with headaches! How the heck do I explain this? 🤔 Any thoughts? 😇

Advice on visiting family in hospital (Scotland)
We haven't seen her since she was rushed to A&E on the day her aneurysm ruptured, and we had a very quick chance to be with her before she was rushed to a specialist hospital for
neurosurgery
. The video call option is not working, it is very confusing for my Mother.

Brain Surgery TV prog
Did anyone watch the 2nd episode, i saw it on catch up. Was very interested to see the patients recuperating and sitting quietly with eyes closed. I still do that such a lot, made me realise just how badly i was affected. If these people could return to work after a few months and here i am 8 years on

Tinnitus is driving me crazy
One of the issues I’ve had after two brain surgeries has left me with constant ringing in my ear (on the side of my head surgeries). Has anyone got any suggestions how I can live with this? The noise varies and along with the other post surgery issues, I’m feeling like I’m going mad! Looking for source

Images of my Brain Before and After Aneursym Surgery
Inspired by photos on here I was just fascinated by, I thought I'd share a few photos of my brain when my aneurysm was found by chance and then a photo of it post surgery. I had no symptoms from the aneurysm (22mm x 14mm) so was very lucky it was found while I was having my tinnitus investigated (

Atorvastatin
Hello everyone, hope you are all as well as possible. I had a stroke in August 2019 and before that had major brain surgery for a large aneurysm in 2017. Since the stroke I've been taking Atorvastatin (40mg), Clopidogrel (75mg) and Amlodipine (5mg). I was prescribed those by the consultant to help

Invisible Disability
Hello again Would love to hear how people cope with dealing life with a disability that affects them hugely, but finding other people lacking in understanding as your disability is invisible. I returned to work, a job I loved and have been in for 34 for years, after 2 years off following major brain

Brain Surgey
Has anyone had brain surgery for their OCD or know anyone who has? Has it relieved you of obsessions /compulsions? I’m medication resistant and my OCD is really severe, I want to have brain surgery if I learn that it’s successful getting rid of OCD

Yellow card?
Hi everyone! Just got a little bit upset 😢 I suffer mega fatigue, crap balance, confusion etc, following brain surgery. I rarely go out alone, but thought I would take the dogs a short walk. I met a lady who wanted to chat (socially distanced). I avoid talking to anyone if I can, as I talk rubbish some

Mannitol, A Life Changer for My Husband... Our Story
I have only mentioned Mannitol when replying to a number of members posts, but I thought I should share our story generally. My husband was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia in 2012. Levadopa appeared to do nothing for him. At this stage his main symptom was severe apathy...misdiagnosed as depression

Hi, I am new to this site & have been following some of the posts over the last few weeks. I have noticed a lot of you mention how bad dopamine is. I am a 60 yr old women, very fit with walking & pilates every day. I have suffered from RLS for many years, the only thing that helped & assured a few hours

From MedPage Today https://www.medpagetoday.com/hematologyoncology/prostatecancer/86622 Being one who was steered to AS vs treatment after a positive cancer biopsy only to have the cancer out and about at surgery three years later, my reaction to the findings presented in this article are summed up

Mom problems
So I think I said early on that my mom was an alcoholic. We (my aunt, rough handling) convinced her to start outpatient rehab because she refused inpatient, before Covid broke out. By the time she detoxed she got about two weeks of Outpatient Treatment maybe six meetings before they stopped them when
