Hello all. I often write a post when we need help or are scared by latest development. Today I'm just sharing some hope and good news. Susie has mets to her brain. Ataxia following brain surgery
I've had brain surgery around 10 times, none since 2009 thank god, but that one did leave me with ataxia. I spent 3 months in a transitional living unit learning to live on my own. I was told that I had ataxia by my neurosurgeon but no mention of a type. I also had radiotherapy. Now I am married and

My goodness, how quickly things change
However, the radiation oncologist wanted a consult with
neurosurgery
prior to setting that plan in motion. We met with
neurosurgery
today. The neurosurgeon explained that Jeff’s largest tumor wasn’t in his brain, but on the dura pressing into his brain.

Brain metastasis update
We will meet with
neurosurgery
Thursday. As the cancer is in 2 different places, it’s doubtful that surgery will be recommended, but RO wants a consult. Radiation treatments will be scheduled pending neurology visit. Zytiga should also help combat the cancer in his brain.

Questions on brain surgery
Hello you looooovely people. So I recently had what will hopefully be my last angiogram. They seem to get worse every time, but the guy doing it was in and out like lightening which I was chugged with. It's to see if the gamma knife surgery had sealed off the rest of my AVM as there was only a tiny

Urate-Elevating Inosine does not slow progression of Parkinson disease
treatment with Urate-elevating inosine treatment was not clinically beneficial in early Parkinson disease, compared to placebo. It didn't result in significant difference in the rate of clinical disease progression among Parkinson's disease (PD) patients. https://medicaldialogues.in/amp/neurology-

Radiation for brain tumors is now scheduled
My Jeff met with the radiation oncologist that specializes in both spine and brain cancer/tumors. Neither of us really cared for the fellow that we met with first, but when Dr. Locke came in, she was wonderful. The fellow detailed that radiation can cause side effects much like chemo … nausea/vomiting

My Jeff ❤️ Staples out and update
My Jeff got his staples out! His recovery from brain surgery was remarkably speedy, uneventful, and with zero cognitive interruption. Surgery was 9-8-2021, Jeff returned to work 9-21-2021 ~ just amazing! During Jeff’s brain surgery, they removed the largest tumor on the dura. The neurosurgeon found

PSA rising again
Its been a week since Jeff had the tumor removed from his brain. He looks and sounds great. I’m so in awe by his courageous nature and good spirits. Jeff had labs today, but we don’t see a doctor until tomorrow. You may recall Dec 2020, Jeff’s PSA started at 950, never got below 237 before it started

Brain surgery superstar
Yesterday was a very long day. We reported to the hospital at 10:00 a.m. Jeff’s actual surgery was approximately 3 hours long, but it was nearly 8:00 p.m. before we were alerted he was in recovery. We finally got to see him again around 10:00 p.m. As you can imagine, Jeff was a little groggy and utterly

Brain surgery has been pushed up!
I’ve mentioned before how much I love my Jeff’s radiation oncologist, Dr. Shumway. He has an impeccable bedside manner and I have always felt he genuinely cares. I truly can’t say enough positive things about him and I’m so grateful he has been a part of Jeff’s care team. Dr. Shumway personally called

Job
Because of balance, tremors and coordination problems I might have to give up job as a brain surgeon, my last few operations didn’t go very well. One now thinks he’s from another solar system and here to save the world. Two now thinks he’s a horse. Three now thinks he’s a tree. The wife’s of 1 and

Abandoned
Had brain surgery in 2014 (3rd Ventriculostomy) for Cavernoma on Brain Stem that had caused Hydrocephalus. Following which my previous good health deteriorated rapidly. The surgeon was and still is brilliant and supportive. Pity can’t say same about GPs. (He misdiagnosed brain problem as labyrinthitis
