With a CLL diagnosis, knowing more about your immune system could save your life!
Your specialist may prescribe Granulocyte - Colony Stimulating Factor (G-CSF) injections (Granix,
Neulasta
, Neupogen, Filgrastim, Zarzio, etc). These are injected into the subcutaneous stomach skin via a very fine needle and boost neutrophil production.

Next line of treatment: too many options
Taxotere was tough on him--he got through it but
Neulasta
especially was painful. His PSA continued to decline all the way to about 2.5, but about 2 months ago it started to increase. Casodex was removed but PSA and Alkaline Phos is still trending up, despite very low testosterone.

Chemotherapy side effects
I was given
Neulasta
and an anti anemia jab and I think I was lucky as my two young boys had two stomach bugs in the past two weeks which I caught but didn't suffer too badly from.

Super high white blood cell count after Neulasta
He has been on ADT since January, first chemo was last Tuesday, followed 24 hours later by
Neulasta
. He had to go to ER on Friday due to severe cramps and blood from his rectum. Then he got a low grade fever and a low white blood cell count.

Treatment protocols
They got insurance approval for
Neulasta
(sent us off to lunch to wait) and called me back in to do it. Without the approval I was going to have to wait a week. So now oncologist said that with
Neulasta
I can have treatments every 10 days as long as wbc counts are good.

Week 3 of Docetaxel Cycle
There are several theories as to what might be causing this: 1) It's a symptom of my bone marrow coming back to life, similar to the side effects of
Neulasta
(which I'm not getting) 2) It's a result of me overdoing things during the second week of each cycle, after the first wave of side effects have

Neulasta side effects
I am thinking that it was the
Neulasta
shot that did the most damage. Earlier in my treatment, my oncologist mentioned a possibility of reducing the dosage of pegfilgrastim. I was wondering if anybody else has had similar issues or if anybody has had a reduced dosage of pegfilgrastim. Thanks,

PSA stable? Good? Bad?
He’s also getting
Neulasta
with each infusion that is being administered by a little cartridge on his abdomen. Any advice on something I may be missing for him to take or to ask the MO about?

neulasta and itching
Has anyone had itching in various places after a
neulasta
shot? I'm not having any trouble breathing and the itching could be from something else since I have a lot of allergies.

Update after 3rd FCR!
Neulasta
was uneventful. Just going to enjoy the next month and hope for good news on 20th. I know I have been very lucky during my chemo. 💕

Hello!
The treatment plan calls for 6 three-week cycles with infusion of B and a shot of R during days one and two of each cycle together with
Neulasta
in an auto injector applied at the day two visit, which injects 27 hours later. I’ve had my first two cycles to date with B and N only.

Hello out there
I was told no
Neulasta
no chemo. There is times the
Neulasta
had not brought the counts up enough for chemo so, it’s to risky and dangerous to go without
Neulasta
. Sometimes it gets it just at the verge of high enough. It never is in the normal range. But, we are getting close.

Finished Last Chemo
The side effects from the
Neulasta
has been pretty brutal. It makes me feel like I'm 100 years old. My bones and muscle hurt so bad it brings tears to my eyes and It's hard to walk up and down my stairs for 3-4 days. I have to say the hardest side effect I had was the hair loss.

Docetaxel and Circulating tumor cells
Currently on Lupron, prednisone, docetaxel and
neulasta
. I seem to be weathering the chemo pretty well and the PSA for what it’s worth has gone down from 51 to 31 after the first round of chemo. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Update on Round 2 FCR
Neulasta
shot was uneventful. Blood work great. Nodes shrunk, spleen not enlarged. Doc is very pleased. She even let me postpone a few days so that I can attend a family function and not worry about going or not after treatment for August treatment.
