Finished Last Chemo

Hello, beautiful Teal Sisters!

Today was my last Chemo treatment. I have my scans done in 3 weeks so, I guess I will have scanxiety until then.

I'm so glad that it over. It hasn't been as bad as I thought it was going to be. Dont get me wrong it hasn't been a walk in the park. I have been nauseous and dizzy the whole time. But, I have to say that was by choice. I did not to take the nausea medication due to it causing constipation. I decided to pick the lesser of two evils. I have only gotten sick the day after my Chemo treatments. The side effects from the Neulasta has been pretty brutal. It makes me feel like I'm 100 years old. My bones and muscle hurt so bad it brings tears to my eyes and It's hard to walk up and down my stairs for 3-4 days. I have to say the hardest side effect I had was the hair loss. I'm so ready for my hair to start growing back! I'm done rocking the bald.

I have been dealing with surgery induced menopause...can I just say THIS SUCKS!!! I'm hot then I'm cold. I'm freezing my husband...lol. my house stays on 67. It feels like I'm on fire from the inside out. My head always feels like it on fire! I wake up about 5x's a night. It feels like my pillow is a heating pad! I sure wish this would pass.

Any suggestion on how to make my hair grow a little faster or how to ease the dreadful hot flashes would be appreciated.

I hope all is well

/hug 🤗

hiya, I found acupuncture helped with the night sweats after my induced menapause along with a cooling pillow.

Once my hair started to grow back I had a couple of head massages as advised these could help the follicles not sure if they helped the growth but I really enjoyed the massage anyway lol really relaxing. I also used a chemical free shampoo as soon as it started to grow. I found once I was off chemo it came back fairly quickly, pretty uneven and fluffy at first so did buzz it a few times until it evened out. I'm currently doing the bald thing again and look forward to getting my hair back 😀

Fingers crossed for good results with your scan xxxx

Thank you! I've never thought about acupuncture, I may have to look into that. I just ordered me a cooling pillow I sure hope that helps.

As, for the hair loss. I would do a handstand in oils if some suggested it...lol

Sorry to hear your going through all this again. You will be in my prayers.

Hi Sunshine. I have to say what a beautiful pic. As for the nightsweats try getting a Chillow Pillow, I found that helped. Your hair should start growing back quite quickly. All the very best for your recovery xx Kathy xx

Hi Sunshine

So pleased you’ve finished your last chemo, well done.

Sorry can’t help with any advice regarding the hot flushes, but as for your hair growing back it shouldn’t be too long until you start to see the new growth coming thru.

Good luck with your scan results and please keep us updated.

By the way, beautiful photos. 👍 xx

Hello, Thank you! I know it's a process but I'm ready! You'd think with all the technology they'd be able to rid this nasty side effect.

Hope all is well.

Hi Sunshine, you’ve come thru your chemo and you’ve got so much courage! Plus you suit your headwear. Not long before your hair starts sprouting. I’ve lost my hair twice now, plus this time (Carboplatin/Caelyx) it’s thinned, but we all get thru it. You take care and you’ll get so much stronger very soon! Lots of love xxx💕💕💕

Hi sweetie my hair grew back pretty quickly and I used Lee Stafford hair growth products which you can get on amazon

amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01GPT...

My hair has come back really curly which is a new experience for me lol.

Lovely photo and how have you kept your lashes and brows? Or are you a talented makeup artist?

Congratulations for the end of chemo and fingers crossed your scan is fine x

Hello ~

I was thinking of ordering me some rogaine and trying all the home remedies I found on pinterest. It looks as if I'm going to have a full head of grey so I'll be rocking a light pink or lavender hair. I may be a grandma of a 7 year old but I turn 40 in a month and I'm not ready to be grey. As for my lashes and eyebrows they have thinned out a lot. I do have to draw my eyebrows on because they are so thin and patchy.

Hope all is well

Hello,

Lovely photos

Sorry I can’t help with your problems as I was too old to suffer that at the same time as chemo.

I kept my wig on for about six weeks after treatment finished.

Best wishes Kathy x

Thank you!

I have 4 wigs and I was only able to tolerate it for about an hour and I pulled it off. I was so hot I couldn't take it anymore.

Hi Sunshine, you look far too young to be struggling with OC! Lovely photo.

I think head massages (by hubby) helped my hair grow back well, and fruit!

I use a little hand-held fan and have a fine water spray from Boots chemist (UK) but I think you may be in the USA? (They will have similar).

Well done for reaching the finishing line of chemo & all it’s side effects! Linda xx 🌸🥂🌻🥂🌼

Hello ~

I am in the USA and I turn 40 in a month. Getting a good scan result will be a wonderful birthday present 🤞I'm constantly giving myself a head message. I'm willing to try anything to speed up the hair growth.

Hope all is well.

Hi well done on finishing Chemo its a great feeling to be done, I used Nioxen shampoo conditioner and scalp booster its really good I finished on April 6th and now have about an inch of thick dark straight hair I still wear my wig though. My lashes and brows were back in may. Make sure to have a healthy balanced diet which should help getting your energy back and your keratin for your hair to be healthy. I also had a holiday booked for the end of May you are after been through a rough few months do something nice for yourself, I also started yoga and its really good and relaxing and helps me sleep better I go to a weekly class and practice at home and I also started Reiki and continued reflexology. Get out and enjoy this time. Be kind to yourself, Take Care Clare

Congratulations on finishing chemo!!! And may your scan be clear 😊

I’ve got 2 chemos left, can’t wait, have dreams at night that I still have hair long enough to go in a pony tail 😛

For the hot flushes, I have a fan which helps, plus living Scotland the weather keeps me cool!

Gorgeous photos, good luck with recuperating now treatment is over and make sure you are pampering yourself xxx

Hi

It’s a great feeling when you finish chemo. Well done. I bought an Afro comb and stimulated my hair follicles for a few minutes night and day.

I never got any fuzzy bits.my hair came through thick and curly quite quickly. Good luck.

Congrats on finishing chemo! As for night sweats, keep a bedside fan aimed at your head at night. It helped me so much I still use it!
