Surgery Today!
I have cervical stenosis and
myelopathy
so I’m hoping this operation will stop the progression of spinal cord damage 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻. Has anyone else had this happen. Not sure if it’s RA related or not.

I had C4/5 disc replacement surgery 6 months ago, after suffering severe
myelopathy
for 3 years. Recovery has been brutal and I’m experiencing neurological symptom I never had before the surgery.

It's been a while
my symptoms were because of my spinal issues, my spine is not operable and has slowly got worse over the years, I lost the use of my legs a couple of years ago and moved into a care home and now the only movement I have left is my right arm and hand, I have a condition called degenerative cervical

Finally got my Neurosurgeon appointment!
I have cervical
myelopathy
and spinal stenosis, with osteophytes pushing into my spinal cord. Surgery should be within the next 6-8 weeks. I’m currently taking Leflunomide and Hydroxychloroquine and spoke to the Rheumy nurse yesterday about whether I stop them for surgery.

I have cervical stenosis
myelopathy
c3 to c7 which seems to have stayed the same for a number of years, has anyone else had this, although the weakness in my right arm isn’t pleasant and the heavy pins and needles are awful I don’t feel that the risk in surgery is worth it.

Issues with cervical spine and no diagnosis
When he heard my symptoms he said he was concerned that I may have cervical
myelopathy
and that I should go to A and E immediately. I told him I had already been. And, he said I should try going somewhere else.

Really digging more The
myelopathy
was not visable on mri but picked up on EMG and together with my history this was the best diagnosis bearing in mind the original spinal trauma was in 1994 and I did not receive imaging at the time ie mri however spine structures show where the original trauma was

Issue but no diagnosis
MRI scan has showed bulging C3-C4 disc bulge with mild cord compression and
myelopathy
. His oxygen levels can drop to under 80% when standing and moving without using his oxygen! Any advice would be very appreciated 🤞🏻

Neck stenosis diagnosis
I've just been given a diagnosis of neck stenosis, not sure what the difference is with
myelopathy
. In searches I came upon this site, thank goodness as I really wanted to know how others live and cope with this.. I am worried as my life has dramatically changed in 18months.

My Cervical Myelopathy was Caused by a Staph Infection
This is how the spine surgeon described it: Staph Infection Resulting in Nontraumatic Spinal Cord Injury Secondary to Discitis and Osteomyelitis I woke up on December 10, 2018 with a horrible burning pain in both of my arms. My husband took me to the emergency room. I was held in the local hospital overnight
