Tips on Disc Surgery Recuperation?

I had C4/5 disc replacement surgery 6 months ago, after suffering severe myelopathy for 3 years. Recovery has been brutal and I’m experiencing neurological symptom I never had before the surgery. I have the antibody type PA and I’m wondering if anyone else has had experience self-injecting B12 in a post-op situation? How often, how much and did it help in your recovery?

I can only imagine the pain you have edured which must be awful. The anaesthecic, surgery, pain ect would have depleted some or most of your B12.

If it were me I would increase the injections but i'm not medically trained to advise - it's more of a suggestion to see if it helps. I inject every day, twice if needed, it wont do any harm to try to see if it helps your recovery.

I do hope you feel better soon.

The neurological symptoms I originally had that were largely been with 6 weekly injections were nothing compared to those seconded post surgery - I think the anaesthetics, stress on the body etc can cause you to crash. 2 years on of SI every day I’m not totally recovered but much improved. My advice would be to SI daily and check folate and ferritin. X
