Advice for starting Levothyroxine
Hi there, I had half my thyroid removed due to an enlarged cyst in February and have struggled with symptoms of hypo ever since. Doctor has just started me on a trial of levo at 50mcg. I have a few questions if anyone is able to help. - When is the best time of day to take it? - I understand best to

Didn't even take folic acid and other

. But after failed my first round and having read many many stories of other people I have realised how stupid I was and am more determined this time.

Confused by blood test results
Hi there, new to this forum! Had Hashimotos for about 15 years, bloods up and down, now fully gluten free. At last GP blood test was told to reduce Levothyroxine dose as GP believed I was over-medicated. I feel that the GP is focused entirely on the numbers and not on how I might be feeling. So, I had

Questions regarding cofactors
Several questions regarding cofactors (hopefully that’s the right term). Can you you have trouble absorbing folate regardless of levels? Like with PA my B12 levels were normal but I wasn’t absorbing it. My folate levels are high but I want to be sure it’s absorbed properly in case of a future pregnancy

Can PA just disappear, even though you still suffer?
So, my nurse practitioner tested my intrinsic factor. I no longer have records of when I was diagnosed with PA about 6 years ago. Apparently, she did not feel comfortable managing my symptoms and referred me to a Hematologist. I go see the Hematologist and he tells me I no longer have PA, but doc, I'm

lots of questions on blood tests
I am going to ask my GP if I can have MMA, Homocysteine and T3 T4 tests done as I had an overactive thyroid that was treated years ago and then was put on thyroxine until I had a reaction to that and the GP then told me my levels were normal so just stopped my thyroxine. About to reduce Pred for 1st time, and wondering about Calcium/Vit D vs Alendronic acid
I posted here about a month ago to say I'd been put on a 5 day diagnostic trial of Pred at 30mg and wondered if it was a bit high. Lots of really helpful replies, thank you! What happened then was that I spoke to a different GP (let's say Dr B), who when I told her how quick and effective it had been

Do we need to stop all supplements before a blood test?
Hi everyone, I know that we should stop taking biotin-containing supplements for a week before a blood test, but what about other supplements? Apart from B complex and a multivitamin containing biotin, I take the following: Turmeric Selenium Zinc Vitamin C Ferrous fumarate (210 mg twice a week) The tests

Any ideas as to the best multivitamin to take for Hashimoto's please?
Hi I am considering adding a multivit daily. And there are so many multivits available! What are the ingredients that hypothyroid people should avoid please? For example, I understand that selenium and iodine are 2 that are contraindicated Any others? iron? Can you recommend a multivit that you take

Pregnacare vitamins and mega acid reflux?!?
Hello ladies, Ive had chronic acid reflux for the past 2 weeks and someone suggested changing my preganacy vitamins so I stopped taking the pregnacare plus (thought these were best out there) and changed to Seven Seas pregnancy vitamins with added ginger and I definitely think it's made a difference.

Swelling still persists
These are the left and right views of my penis. As you can see, the swelling (edema?) on the under side still persists. And you can also see a few bumps in the left view where the skin meets the shaft just below the head. The doctor says all of that is just swelling and it'll go away slowly. But it's

GPs 🤦♀️ WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE
As you know, I am always trying to help others in how to deal with their GPs when they prove to be less than we should expect in their care of us. Well this is a case of ‘physician heal yourself’! I don’t want to bore you all with the numerous details but let’s just say that for several years I have

Anyone else diagnosed with Anaemia?
I'm upping my intake of good quality beef and leafy greens too, as well as iron fortified foods and taking
multivitamins
. Has anyone else ended up with anaemia as a result of endometriosis?
