4 year old withholding again after 2 years
I upped the
movicol
and added some lactulose and she eventually passed a hard stool under a great many tears and is now withholding despite being on 4-5
movicol
plus lactulose for the last three days.... she says her bottom and tummy hurt, she is really tired, cries at times and lacks appetite.

Movicol causing stomach pain
My question is has anyone else experienced these side effects with
Movicol
/Osmolax ( I can’t think of anything else causing the cramps) . I also wondered if any one has done a mixed laxative plan using lactulose and
movicol
as this may be my next plan of action. Thanks team! 😁

Autism Global Delay Non Verbal & Constipation
He’s been on
movicol
for a couple of years now but it’s hit & miss. He won’t drink it during the day at all so we are mixing it to the correct dose with his favourite flavour water. He’s also still in nappies as he has non concept of toilets or what is expected of him.

disimpaction required or not?
This one was good consistency but quite large so not sure if it was too big indicating stretched bowel requiring disimpaction or whether just to carry on trying to get correct
movicol
level? Picture of the second bigger stool. Apologies 🤣

So confused....constipation or not?
The Dr prescribed him
movicol
and I have been giving him one a day but it seems to have made him soil more. I have tried leaving off it for a week or so and then he didn’t go at all and had watery leakage so I started it again.

Movicollege vs cosmocol
Movicol
vs cosmocol. Hello, our consultant prescribed
movicol
but our GP insisted that cosmocol is the same and will only prescribe that. The ingredients look almost identical but our consultant clearly wanted us to move from cosmocol to
movicol
. Anyone else know any differences? Thanks folks

Disimpaction
We’re doing a disimpaction this week while we are off school, and I’m currently upping the
movicol
daily. My question is, once we get to the watery stage, and want to reduce
movicol
, do we cut straight back to our maintenance dose or do it slowly? Thanks in advance 😊

Frustration with Movicol and PicoSulphate
We’ve been with the paediatrician for a year now, on
Movicol
and Pico sulphate. It was looking better; we had reduced the
Movicol
to half or one sachet on the days she didn’t poo, to the point where she was off it all together. Then about a month ago her poo became constantly liquid.

Still at stage 6
We are on day 9 of disimpaction and second day of 12 sachets of
movicol
but think my son is still only at stage 6 on the bristol stool chart. It is liquid but is quite thick. Does it need to be completely watery to be stage 7? Do I keep going at 12 sachets?

Antibiotics - cure or poison?
I was on
movicol
for several months. This apparently paved the way for my new bout of prostatitis. So I am between a rock and a hard place. I just don't know what to do.

How can you distinguish overflow?
My daughter is on 2 sachets of
movicol
a day and 7.5 senna a day. Her stomach is swollen and she has not had a normal poo for years. My question is how do you tell the difference between overflow and just normal diahorrea? She was diss impacted in February and March.

Sharing a chat with a paediatric surgeon
My friend went on to say that because of this,
Movicol
is the preferred treatment; it it is considered to have no side effects and creates the right consistency for healing to take place. 3 months of porridge like poo is required to allow the fissure to heal.

Functional Gastro Disorder- possibly IBS
He had the
movicol
prep before capsule endoscopy & it didn’t do a thing, in fact no bowel motion for a week after. So that was a big factor in his diagnosis I think. His bowels aren’t a big problem usually, just once a week he may feel constipated.

Travel advice with movicol
Hi I'm looking for some advice my son is currently on 6 sachets of
movicol
a day. And I'm travelling out of London from Gatwick Airport. Has anyone travelled with quite a large amount of
movicol
I'm going for 2 weeks so works out about 90 sachets I'll have to take with me.

Does disimpaction work
My 3 year old is currently taking 8
movicol
a day to try and clear her impaction. That’s not easy to get a stubborn toddler to do but we’re managing anyway I was what people’s experiences were after. Did this solve the problem or is it something on going?
