GABAPENTIN for nerve pain?
My PD meds are carbidopa/levodopa, comtan and
mirapex
. (
Mirapex
was the possible interaction). Within two hours of taking the one AND ONLY capsule I will ever take, I had double vision, a migraine complete with nausea, diarhea (sp?), and felt like a walking zombie.

Coconut oil has improved my life
A year ago, while taking
Mirapex
Er (3mg) and Azilect (1Mg), my symptoms had progressed to severe slowness, unsteadiness, chronic stiffness and joint pain, frequent freezing episodes and I dragged my left leg.

RLS, Frustration, Meds, Withdrawal, Anger, Etc.
So, I called the Dr on Monday to let him know the
Mirapex
wasn't working. I had to leave a message, of course. Finally, the nurse called me back at 5:30 pm and wanted to know the dose I was taking.

How long do most meds take? Did tramadol spoil me?
I've was on
mirapex
at .125 mg for five days and now at .25 mg for four days. I'm ready to consider it a bust and move on. Is that too soon? In your experience, how long did it take to get some form of relief from whatever med is currently working for you? Was it hours? Days? Weeks? Months?!

I have a couple questions about Neupro and Mirapex.
I was in such misery that, since I had a bottle of
Mirapex
, I started taking .,25 mg
mirapex
an hour before sleep (I tried .125 for two days, but no relief) and also was taking the Horizant at about 5:30 pm. Thankfully, it has been working, but Dr.

first time, long time - mind if i just vent a little bit?
However, I've heard there can be some scary side effects from
mirapex
(it's already giving me headaches), though. And since I'm not getting any appreciable results better than what I was getting with neurontin, I'm thinking about asking the doctor if i can just switch back to it.

Have you been asked by your GP (in the UK) to cut down one of your drugs?
I was recently asked by GP, not specialist, to take one
Mirapex
slow release instead of two 0.52mg. Ordinarily I might have said yes relying on his opinion but intuition made me ask why. The answer was cost cutting. Of course I said NO. Please check with your specialists before changing anything.

Is anyone still on Mirapex?
Is anyone aware that there is a class action suit against the makers of
Mirapex
- many were offered to join I believe it was last August by a law firm in Toronto, Canada. The action suit was approved by the Ontario Supreme court late last year.

I am so frustrated that I can't do anything to help my husband with his pain and doctors aren't helping.
He was taken off
Mirapex
several weeks ago and I'm wondering if he should be put back on it but doctor says no. Took him to Chiropractor and he has muscle atrophy because he can't walk because of pain. He is trying to help him but so far nothing is working.

Has anyone had problems when increasing Sinemet? My hubby was taken off Mirapex and his Sinemet was slowly increased to 2 pills 4xday
but now has leg pain and still trouble walking as well as loss of appetite and cognitive issues. Doctor said to reduce it back to where it was so hopefully that will work. Dr. hasn't offered anything else to try so I'm at a loss on what to do. If his current state continues, he will probably not be

Addendum to the very good recent posts from Avosyl and Tunstall
Very good and informative posts from Avosyl and Tunstall . We all know that every form of medication has side effects and we must be prepared to question our GP if the benefit derived from any medication is outweighted by the side effects. Over the past 3 yrs I have tried Mirapexin, Neupro, Requip

RLS is there hope?
This is my second posting, so sorry if it seems incoherent. To the point, RLS is ruining my life! I exist getting through each day as best I can as I never have any energy. I shan't go into all the details as I did this in my previous posting. On Monday I went to Papworth RSSC with a visit to my specialist
