Trouble adjusting
I was told I had
melanoma
last year after my very first appointment to the dermatologist. Two weeks after being diagnosed, they removed the mole in question and left me with a 7 inch scar across my abdomen. Being a 19 year old girl, that was a hard thing for me to accept.

Sometimes, this is the answer
After 2.5 years of living with Stage 3
melanoma
my husband asked the
melanoma
doc to remove a small, itchy B-B size spot on his leg. Pathology returned the surprise bad news that it was cancerous and required a larger excision and a new full body PeT scan.

Stage 2a melanoma diagnosed in February 2017
I was diagnosed in February with stage 2a
melanoma
. Surgery in march for wide local excision and a sentinel node biopsy. They removed 3 nodes. All came back clear margins and negative for cancer. I'm still anxious about recurrance. I think about it every day.

Hello!
My name is Lindsey and I was diagnosed with
melanoma
in April of 2016 when I was 6 months pregnant with my first child. I was scared and angry! We had been living in Sunny El Paso, TX at the time as my husband was stationed there with the army. Our family was 1700 miles away and I was lost.

Stage IIIA at 28
The
melanoma
specialist was on the fence about any systematic treatments. I needed no radiation, and was not eligible for clinical trials. She was against interferon, both full dose and pregylated.

Scars Are Tattoos with Better Stories...
When a young adult is treated for cancer their body can react in a variety of ways: surgery can cause permanent scarring, treatments can cause hair loss and weight loss, and in some of the rarer types of
melanoma
, it can cause the loss of an eye or a jaw. Has cancer affected your body image?

Hard watching my friends get married and have children while I have to wait to start my own family until this
melanoma
crap is over with... which there is no telling how long that will be at this point.
