This is a meta analysis of earlier research on this. It found melanoma was significantly higher in people with pd but only marginally higher in other types of pd.

it gives some possible explanations at the end of the report including this

Melanin exists in neurons is termed as “neuromelanin”; it is a protective factor that can save neurons from oxidative stress. Abnormalities in melanin can cause various skin cancers, including melanoma, while PD is correlated with abnormalities in neuromelanin, it suggests that PD closely links to melanoma through melanin

There's a triple whammy for me & Melanoma. My mom died from it, my brother has had it on both of his legs & on his ear, & I have PD. Neither one of them had/has PD though. Hopefully my brother won't get PD.

I get checked 2 X a year. I have had a dozen basil cells removed from back and shoulders.
