Advice on halting bone loss following Dexa and hrt or other supplements.
Thyroid cancer at 23, high dose T4 requiring propranolol for 17 years, then battles over dosage post menopause as rules changed. T3, when measured, always seemed to be at a good level. I didn't take HRT as it was at the height of the cancer scare. I regret it now. Sjogrens and very low vitamin D diagnosed

Update on the dreaded G.P appointment…
Just got back from my appointment with the G.p (Copied a bit of history from my last post for reference. ) Well…it was horrible, but to cut a long story short - he agreed on a small increase in levothyroxine from 50mcg to 75mcg. Although it was a long, arduous process, and he made me feel as if I was

how to obtain NDT in UK

Thank you re: low T4 in spite of medication
I have been overwhelmed by the tsunami of advice and am very grateful for all of it. Having read it all carefully this is the plan: To raise Levo to 100/125 mcg alternate days, leaving T3 at 10 mcg but split into 2 doses. Test ferritin/folate, and supplement if required. Wait. And then consider '

Hi all. My levothyroxine was changed to Aristo brand. Which suited me. Then the usual the pharmacy could only get it whenever. But now they have given me Aristo Vencamil Levothyroxine, with no problem getting that. But I can't find any information on what the difference is. Does anyone have any experience

What's a hashi flare and could my change in results be due to that?
Can someone help me understand what a hashi flare is and whether my change in results could be due to that? I was prescribed 75mcg on June 13th and have been on a stable dose since then, same brand etc. Because I was still feeling tired I finally managed to persuade my gp to test t3 and t4 which was

T4 remains low in spite of medication
I was first diagnosed with hypothyroidism many years ago by Dr Peatfield, and was medicated (Armour) until I emigrated in 2000. At that time I could no longer access meds from Dr P, and could not get diagnosed where I was. Fast forward 17 years (without treatment) and I returned home and started the

Adrenal help please
I posted a few weeks back as I was feeling jittery, spaced out, irritable etc and been having some low grade headaches. Did a MMH blood test which showed T3 & T4 had gone down slightly. . I had stopped my T3 lunchtime dose for a few days and calmed down a bit , then back to normal dose for a few days

Levothyroxine and homeopathic medicines
Hello, I am considering weaning myself off (with GP guidance) of Sertraline as it doesn't work for me regardless of dosage - currently on 50mg. I am considering going down the homeopathic route instead but is it safe to combine levo and natural remedies? If so, are there any that you can't? GP's

Thyroid and the Menstrual Cycle?
When I was first diagnosed with Graves diseases my periods had practically stopped. I had no period for almost a year thinking the menopause was to blame. I started Carbimazole and reacted badly to it and had Rai. Soon after I started Levo. My periods have often been on the heavy side, but after having

Blood test Timings
The last 2 blood tests I had have gone awry... For the last year, I've followed the guidance on here re timings, dosage fasting etc. But the last 2 were sprung on me last minute, so I had taken my levo dose the night before and my blood test was late morning, plus I'd eaten. good morning, I’ve just received my advanced thyroid panel from medichecks and I hoped someone could interpret them for me please? A bit of history, I developed an overactive thyroid with graves and t.e.d in 2001, I had radio iodine which obviously knocked me underactive. I got put straight on levothyroxine

Anyone else tried NDT due to levo side effects?
Hi All I've struggled with different brands of levothyroxine as they give me terrible side effects (Teva is the worst). Wockhardt seems to be the only one I can tolerate, however I have not been feeling myself for a couple of months, and wondering if I now can't tolerate this one either. I feel weird
