When was your last dose of Levo & T3 prior to this test?
Depending on your reply to that question your FT4 is at 53% of range and FT3 over range.
What are you supplementing with?
When were your last tests for vitamins?
How do you feel?
Do you always get the same brand of Levo?
Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
On T3 - day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day with last dose 8-12 hours before test
Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription
Do you normally split T3 as 2 or 3 doses per day
ESSENTIAL to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Exactly what vitamin supplements are you taking
Did you stop any supplements that contain biotin 5-7 days before test
when was this test done……and what time of day
I had my medication that morning and the blood test was done at 5.40pm as it was a cancellation..
No other tests done we know what GPS tests are like ...
I take my t3 in one go also as il probably forget 😅 so this is easiest no supplements...
So you need to retest yourself including vitamins
TSH would have been higher at 9am
Ft4 is falsely high as levothyroxine was not 24 hours before test
Ft3 falsely high as you didn’t split T3 day before testing
Even if you don’t normally split your T3, always split day before testing
You quite likely have room to increase levothyroxine dose and quite likely don’t need to reduce T3
Get retest and come back with new post once you get results
And if not taking any vitamin supplements, quite likely low vitamin levels will need improving

Looks like you are over doing the T3 by quite a bit, I'd drop down to 20mcg or even 15mcg depending on how you are feeling and retest in 6 weeks, a little less T3 might help bring your fT4 up
She took whole 25mcg tablet that morning
Though I agree ….might possibly need to reduce by 1/4 of a tablet….but I would retest first
So that's somewhere between 8 and 12 hours prior to testing?
Yes but was whole daily dose….she should have split as 3 doses and only taken last 1/4 of tablet 8-12 hours before test
Ideally, but this result shows that she is over doing it as this is way too high given it would have peaked several hours before no?
actually most people who take T3 as single dose probably have this peak of over range Ft3
That’s why it’s generally better to split dose and exactly why it’s ESSENTIAL to split dose day before test
Blood test timings
Post from yesterday showing the difference when testing correctly
healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...
FT4: 17.9 pmol/l (Range 10.8 - 25.5)
Ft4 only 48.30% through range
March test when left correct timing
Suggests you have room for dose increase in levothyroxine
Aug test when testing unexpectedly
FT4: 22.3 pmol/l (Range 10.8 - 25.5)
Ft4 at 78.23% through range
