The stress of the morning meds lottery
My night time regime consists of a single
Madopar
100g (controlled release) so my system hasn't been depleted of levadopa during the night. I ensure that my breakfasts have minimal amount of protein. However, I take 200mg of
Madopar
at 7 and I don't come 'on' for maybe 50 minutes.

Levodopa not helping
Tremor became marked about 18 months ago and he tried a dopamine agonist but it made him terribly sleepy so then he was put on
Madopar
100/25 twice daily but he has never experienced any diminution in the tremor or improvement in handwriting after a dose and doesn't know if it's worth continuing.

Is there diference between Levedopa brands in terms of symptom releaf? Can one more effective vs other?
My husband gets
Madopar
, but not really effective. Everyone is talking about honey moon of first years but it is a nightmare. Some minor imprivement in stifness and walking but tremor is stronger.

Prolopa (Madopar) Product Monograph
Some interesting information, right from the horse's mouth: https://www.rochecanada.com/PMs/Prolopa/Prolopa_PM_E.pdf 30 pages, much of it gold, that may put to pasture many of the questions about this drug stack.

Safinamide
Most recently we have replaced the 10.30pm 1 yellow pill Sinemet plus with
Madopar
(dispersible) and 'slow release half sinemet' (10.30pm). Plus over the last 4-6 weeks I have introduced Rasagaline 1mg.

Started my grandmother on TTFD
(Maybe 50mg from half the 125-
Madopar
dissolvable pill that I currently use is better absorbed than 50mg from the whole 62.5-
Madopar
dissolvable pill - idk). Yesterday on July 16th I raised her TTFD dose to 300mg/day now that the magnesium citrate powder I ordered has arrived.

Keto, Eggs and PD Meds
I waited a couple of hours before having a
Madopar
which had no effect whatsoever and then after 4 hours tried a rescue remedy of soluble
Madopar
. Disappointingly, this similarly had no effect on my PD symptoms. So it looks as if the ‘big push’ towards Ketosis won’t be happening.

St. John’s wort, ursolic acid, Gardenia jasminoides
Hubby has been having a bad patch lately with symptoms deteriorating so we decided to try increasing his
madopar
from 3 1/2 x 50/12.5 tablets to 5 but he couldn’t tolerate the extra (usual extra rigidity and suicidal thinking) so reduced back to 4 1/2. PD nurse still thinks it isn’t enough.

Madopar now in sealed bottles. BEWARE
They refused to apologise or explain 2 shortfall prescriptions of
Madopar
, and lack of any previous explanations re new bottle policy. Also failed to address lack of Simvastatin in the medicines bag, doctor having confirmed pharmacy had recorded Simvastatin was issued as well as 224

Also, Neurologist has me on
Madopar
CR during the night and immediate release during the day. I’m trying to work out what the purpose of immediate release is? Why not CR twice a day? Thanks guys 💊😀

Staying up later than usual
He's tired enough to go to bed about 8.45/9pm, and takes a slow release
Madopar
... His relationship with
Madopar
is getting a bit past it's best, i.e. he stiffens up alot when he wears off, and if he takes more than he needs then he either get dyskinesia or stiffens up even more.

Normal Meds: is this it?!
I say normal because up until recently I’ve used a cocktail of normal (Rasagaline, Requip and
Madopar
) alongside Mucuna. The Mucuna was my go to stuff if I needed an immediate lift as it worked so quickly.
