Taking Parkinson's meds with food
Hi all. I'd imagine not everyone is fully aware that taking Parkinson's medications, such as Sinemet or Madopar, ought NOT to be taken, according to the information given in the following link, at the same time as eating a meal with protein in it. The information seems compelling and, to me, even quite

Madopar side effects
I have had tremor in my rleft hand and arm for 3 years but it is only embarrassing and does not stop me from doing things. I am 72 and am active. I enjoy gardening walking and creative hobbies. My neurologist has prescribed Madopar 100/25 to be taken 1/2 hour before meals. I now feel terrible. Have

I'm 64, diagnosed with PD 18 months ago but have had symptoms of no left arm swing, rigidity of torso, leaning forwards when walking, and bradykinesia for some years before that, no tremor. I was initially started on Madopar with no positive response, just bad reactions and I felt so sick I couldn't

sinemet cr
I'd like to hear from those who have tried sinemet cr. I just started taking it this week along with regular sinemet and amantadine and it seems to be helping a great deal.

I am a firm believer in IBUPROFEN. I have been taking a small dose of about 10 - 20 ml of FENAPAED, which is a child's format - and kinder
Ibuprofen is a well known anti-inflammatory. My neuro is rather dismissive, and just says "it isn't proven!". Well I was diagnosed in 1991, and have been overtaken downhill by all my friends with pd. The progression has plateaued. I take 7 x 125mg MADOPAR and 3 x 0.36mg (each dose being 2 x 0.18mg

Changed to madopar
My sister Rose is in final stage PSP and is now at risk of choking and is on a pureed diet and the nursing staff have had to remove her false teeth. Also have changed from sinemet tablet to madopar liquid and Rose remarkably has been communicating again! Able to answer us and even answered a question

Parkinsons and constipation
Didn't know until today that constipation is another side effect of parkinsons. My partner has had pd for last 3 years + also the dementi think called lewy bodies for last year, now he had as heart tests and yes another complication, so the have put him on statins and asprin - although the asprin helps

Sleep medication
Season's greetings one and all. I trust this festive season has seen bright moments amidst the ongoing pressures of caring. I'm desperately hoping that someone out there can share their experiences with me. Don has gone from a relatively peaceful sleeper to a night monster over the last year and I

Is it worth changing from madopar to sinemet
Hi all, i am on 2 x 125mg madopar and 0.7 mg pramipexole 3 times a day and amandatine 100 mg 2 times a day, I find that the medication doesn't seem to help the stiffness too much, has anybody changed from madopar and found that changing to sinemet has worked better. I thought it may be worth changing

Generic Drugs
I have been taking the same drugs for a few years. I take Stalevo, Ropinerole, Trihexyphenidyl and half Sinemet CR. These have worked well for me. However, my GP has advised that they intend to change my Ropinirole tablet with a tablet called Repinex XL This appears to be the generic trade name and
