New PSP Diagnosis
Hi, After 3 years living with a PD diagnosis, my husband's new dr believes he has PSP. I have read some info about this, but wonder how a definite diagnosis could be made. It seems from what I read that PSP is worse than PD. I pray the dr is wrong, but we would like to know for sure. He has never

Different meds???
Hi Parkies, can any one shred a little light for me please? My husband is the Parky, he's on quite a lot of meds but he is doing ok for past couple of years, most say they wouldn't know he has PD. His Nuero is brilliant, and promised him he would get him back to 95% himself in 12 months which he did

Half Sinemet CR
I have only been taking meds for 3 months, Sinemet x 3 low dose. Worked wonders for lifting my energy level, removing anxiety and helping with rigidity and had no more freezing. Now neurologist feels I could benefit from adding Half Sinemet CR at night to help with minor tremor (whole of right hand side

Medication Question
I was diagnosed with PD two years ago, but I've had symptoms for decades. I'm an American living in Thailand and I have no medical insurance, so at the moment am not seeing a doctor. I have a question about medication. I take 1/2 Madopar 250 & 1/2 Comtan 200 twice per day. It takes about an hour for

Confirmation Brian has PSP!
Four years ago Brian suffered a Pulmonary Embolism affecting speech and slowing movement, where hiking up hills became ambling to the bus stop! Two years later the first sign of PSP was a backwards fall down our twelve stairs. Last year whilst getting new glasses he confused everyone insisting he could

My name is David (70 yrs.old) and I live in the UK and was diagnosed with Parkinsons almost 7 years ago. Difference between Sinemet and Madopar (Co-beneldopa)
A couple of days ago someone on this site asked me what the difference was between these two after I had posted that Sinemet made me confused whereas Madopar was almost miraculous in its effect. I'm afraid I can't find the original question but the difference is that Sinemet is ldopa combined with carbidopa

Madopar prescripted Madopar for 15 years old
Hello all. Doctor said to give my 15 years old brother Madopar (he has parkinson-like syndroms) I read that it mustn't be given to people under the age 25. I'm interested, in detail - what exactly will happen if it is taken by a person under 25?

Madopar 62.5
I am taking Madopar 62.5 - 3 capsules, 4 times per day. My Neuro says that is still a small dose. In times of stress or before a game of golf, I sometimes take 4 capsules which seem to help lessen the effect of OFF time. I have no idea what the average PD person takes - I was diagnosed 3 1/2 years

Knowledge is Power: understanding our medications.
Since having PD I have become just a little obsessed with reading and understanding all I can about it and this is a bit of what I have learned. I hope it is useful to somebody. I was going to put some of this in a reply post but it is general information. It is not meant to be advice about your

Bradykinesia
I was diagnosed with PD 2 years ago, non-tremor and am just on Selegiline. At diagnosis I tried Madopar and later on Sinemet, looking back I think the drs then had me increase the dosage too quickly and soon I felt so ill I was unable to work. Not nauseous but completely fatigued, sweaty, felt terrible
