Lupron

I was on lupron injections for almost 1 year. I didn’t like the pain for 5 days after injection plus insurance only paid half the cost so I got an orchiectomy. I don’t regret that. Several months after the orchiectomy, my PSA level went up so my urologist said it’s time to see an oncologists.

Currently on Lupron but stopped Zytiga because my PSA is rising. My PSA increased from 0.13 to 0.52 in a 3 three month span. My Oncologist wants to begin chemo with Carboplatin, but what other effective options are there.

I had my three month lupron injection on the 8th, Friday . My URO call me that afternoon and told me my psa went from 0.19 to 0.46. I asked him if he wanted to recheck in about a month, he told me no. My next appointment with his is July 13th.

I was given Lupron every 3 months for my first 9 months and then switched to something that was injected into my abdominal muscles every 3 months. Any idea of what the second round was and it’s effectiveness? I was told that there was a shortage of Lupron during the pandemic. Now back on Lupron.

Curious what might follow Lupron and Zytiga and what my options would be: Chemo- or some other med? Many thx for your input

Hi following on from my earlier post I’m approaching the end of my forth week and I would say it is not that much different to Lupron except I find the fatigue and minor ache are more intense (both seem to come and go). My hip pain does seemed to have eased.

Beloved, well-read, much-experienced cancer colleagues, My PSA has gone up quite slowly since being OFF all ADT since 2015-16 clinical trial on Lupron and Apaludimide (I had heart attack and a TIA then- my oncologist has not urged me to go back on ADT since).

I Med Onco wants me to go the Lupron + Taxotere route. I've seen others go other routes such as HT+Zytiga or some other combo. I have a biopsy scheduled, but they cant do it for a couple of weeks.

My husband recently started Lupron and Casodex for stage 3b prostate cancer. Will begin 45 radiation treatments soon. Does anyone have any experience as to the effectiveness of this treatment and ..what has been your experience with side effects to the radiation treatment? Thank you.

Refused to subject myself to Lupron injections, so I started applying tE2 gel (based on Richard Wassersug's outstanding success and recommendation) in April of 2018 after everything else failed and my PSA continued to rise.

I'm looking to start Xtandi WITHOUT Lupron or its equivalents. My question is "does Xtandi destroy libido like Lupron?" Any user responses will be appreciated.

I wasn't embracing ADT as those I knew were getting Lupron shots combined with Zytiga and Prednisone...and had all kind of side effects The only side effect I have had is some very transient hot flushes a couple of times a day. FWIW

He is seeing his Urologist for the Lupron shots and Casodex and a Radiation Oncologist for his Radiation treatments (5x/wk for 9 wks). Just wondering your opinion on if he needs to see an Oncologist or if the Radiation Oncologist is it for the time being?

I think the study has 60 subjects with a variety of treatment programs - that spreadsheet will be fun to figure out. 65 yo, Gleason 4+5, in middle of 18 month Lupron stint, had EBRT and Brachy recently

He started lupron, and completed radiation treatment this past week. I am caring for him in his home, and started hospice care several days ago. I liked our hospice intake nurse that assessed my dad. She recommended Gerson therapy.

* At day 4 relugolix achieved castrate T level in 56.0% of men compared to Lupron, 0%. At day 4 the T level was 38 ng/dL for relugolix. Lupron produced a ‘surge” to 625 ng/mL day 4 then dropped to castrate level by day 6.

We are hoping to get many months without any treatment other than lupron.

Now that i have your attention...am 4.8 mos post dx and first lupron injection....i remmeber the bone pain flair few days after that....way intense but left after few days.....was exoected....this woke me up last nite 8 hrs or so after my 17th injection....i kinda looked around dont see reference to
