Xtandi and sex

I'm looking to start Xtandi WITHOUT Lupron or its equivalents.

My question is "does Xtandi destroy libido like Lupron?" Any user responses will be appreciated.

It will not destroy libido because it does not lower the testosterone level. Here is a study regarding Xtandi monotherapy:

It reports: "Clinically meaningful [..] reductions in sexual functioning from baseline were observed at 49 and 97 wk. There were no clinically meaningful changes in sexual activity". However, if you had ADT for some time, you may not recover to pre-ADT sexual functioning.

I want to add that Xtandi is FDA approved in combination with e.g. Lupron only. Existing studies indicate that the combination is a bit more effective than Xtandi monotherapy. However, QoL is apparently better with Xtandi monotherapy.

We will know exactly when the Embark study results are reported in about two years from now. This phase III trial has an enzalutamide monotherapy arm.
