Experiencing different side-effects across Lupron injections
I’ve had
Lupron
injections twice so far, once in April 2020 and a second time in early Jan 2021. My side-effects are not uncommon in themselves, but I am surprised to notice that they differ wildly from one shot to the next.

The safety aspects seem safer than
lupron
with quicker recovery time once off the drug.

Not responding to Xtandi
Diagnosed 2008, RP same year, followed by salvage radiation in 2012, then Chemo (docetaxel) in 2016, then
Lupron
(for life), then bicalutamide(Casodex). In April, last year, switched out Casodex to Xtandi as psa rates were rising. Current psa Jan/21 7.24 with a doubling rate of 7.1 months.

2nd radiation potential
Been on systematic treatment
Lupron
for 2+ years. Could IMRT or Proton target just the large lymph nodes and slow down the spread? Realize it is systemic spread but thinking it might help to hit the hot spots with another dose of radiation. Or would risk to organs be too high? Any thoughts?

Still undetected
Next
lupron
injection is April, three months this time. My oncologist wants me on
lupron
2 years. One year down. Guess there will be some time before I will know if radiation to pelvic area was effective.

IMPROVED RESPONSE TO ADT thanks to you all and your feedback
Switched from 6-month
Lupron
depot shots to monthly Degarelix shots. (Degarelix is only available in 1 month shots). Degarelix does NOT give me the brain fog that
Lupron
used to give. Increased my Lexapro (depression medicine) from 10 mg to 20 mg daily. Exercising 6 days per week, instead of 4.

Latest PSA and Testosterone
I'm anticipating that radiation and ADT/
Lupron
will commence after the appointment and further investigations dependent upon the results of the scan. Thanks for the insight of everyone on this board

Testosterone rising consistently
Hello Warriors, My husband Mike has been on
Lupron
since May 2020 (every three months). After three months on
Lupron
(Aug 2020) his PSA was .06 (awesome), T was 15 - lowest it ever was and started rising after that.

Loss of appetite
His stage 4, gleason 9, mCRPC is being effectively controlled right now by abiraterone, prednisone and
lupron
. The combination of the
lupron
and the cannabis seems to particularly difficult in terms of the mental health effects, and he has started considering an orchiectomy in the future.

PSMA scan results at PSA 0.12
As for treatment plan, I meet with radiologist at Mayo AZ Monday and plan on starting back on Casodex with tamoxifen and about 2 weeks later follow with
Lupron
. I would also like to add zytiga or Nubeqa in there for 12-18 months to address micro disease after IMRT/IGRT.

The club you never wanted to join: Stage 4 Gleason 9+ at 46
I started
Lupron
and cassodex immediately. Then continued tumor development made me do chemo and radiation at the same time. Chemo was etoposide and cisplatin. Radiation was the 35 days on the table getting my pelvic radiation. That was the summer of 2016. Then back to Alaska.

Lupron withdrawals, is it a thing?
I was wondering if anyone could offer any insights on what I can expect as the
Lupron
disipates and my testosterone hopefully rises. Thanks guys, 😎 DD.

My husband got his shot of
Lupron
today his Urologist has never even heard of that mutation. He said mutations are geared more towards Oncology however that’s not one he has ever heard of. Even my husbands Oncologist hasn’t heard of it.

Cancer Free 13 Months - Wish to Stop Lupron This October (Will Be 2Years)
I've been cancer free since October 2019 and I wish to stop my quarterly
Lupron
shots this October. My Dr suggests I continue taking
Lupron
for the rest of my life. I do not want to continue after being cancer free for two years. Any thoughts on why I need to take
Lupron
for the rest of my life.

I've been taking a shot of
Lupron
in my butt, along side Xtandi and an IV once a month that makes my bones denser. I can't remember the name of it. It's down to 50 now and I couldn't feel better. I might regret saying that since my first shot 3 months ago gave me flu symptoms for a day.

Bone density and SABR-COMET10
I continue to find your posts enlightening and supportive and thank you for them.I am presently on
Lupron
and Apalutamide and have recently completed a 6 x 6 (36) Gy treatment regimen to my prostate. I had a bone density scan last year and my 10 year fracture risk is moderate (10 - 20%/10 years).

Suffering from cyclical pain and nausea
I am on progesterone cream (10 days a month), progestin,
lupron
, and the mirena. This past cycle was probably the worst that I’ve gone through in over 3 years. Every time I am due for my
lupron
shot, about a week before, I start to get severe nausea, cramps, spotting.
