Lung surgery, high risk for covid 19?
I had surgery for a pulmonary avm 18 months ago. I lost my mid right lung lobe. I've healed well and now work on a ward in an nhs hospital. Work have assessed me as high risk but I don't think I am and want to keep working. Am I high risk?

Confused
I have hypersensitivity pneumonitis with fibrosis and live alone, I haven't received a letter but am I a high risk person. I would like to know. I live on my own any way so I don't have baby contacts except possibly shopping.

Surgery Date Next Week
Hello all! So my mom decided to get the masectomy instead of the partial one. I know this was a hard decision to take but due to her current dyalisis condition, we thought it was better for her to get rid of any chance. So my dad her and I discussed and we said it is better to get over the "what if"

Has anyone had a lobectomy?
How was it and how was the recovery? I'm new here and have a long-term undiagnosed lung abscess that hasn't responded to any treatments. It isn't cancerous (thank goodness!), but all the tests and procedures I have taken have come back negative. My consultant has advised me that, as there is little left

Am I patient zero?!
The more I hear about Coronavirus, the more I’m convinced I had it in December when I was critically ill and admitted to ITU with respiratory distress and respiratory failure. I had lots of thick mucus blocking my airways and my CT scan had multi areas of ‘ground glass appearance’ which looks similar

Low-dose chest CT leaves DNA intact
The low-dose chest CT scans used in lung cancer screening do not appear to damage human DNA, according to a study appearing in the journal Radiology. The results could help allay fears that such screenings will lead to an increase in radiation-induced cancer. Low-dose CT screening for lung cancer in

Covid 19 - Soap works better than gel/sanitizer.
Hi all. The Gov't think they have the best brains to rely on for info in the fight against cov 19; And we may have - but if we don't deliver their advise clearly, it isn't understood and is not acted on: You know what makes me think we've already screwed up? Lung Transplant update 3
Hello, I posted a few weeks ago about my mother’s lung transplant journey. To recap my mum is 62 and had her single lung transplant on the 30th October, since then she has spent 105 days in critical care. It has been traumatic on the whole family and of course my mother. How long is the life expectancy of a diagnosed lung cancer patient with a 2.5 cm lump in her lung?
I’m currently a junior in highschool and I have a sisters who’s 11. My mom (49) was diagnosed with lung cancer today with a 2.5 cm lump in her lung. I don’t know how long her life expectancy is and which stage she’s in since she has to make another appointment with a specialist. How do I make her comfortable

End-Stage doesn’t mean it’s the end.
They sometimes refer to Stage lV as End-stage emphysema but don’t think it means you will die soon. I’ve been stage IV (FEV1 <30%) for 10 years now, following pulmonologist’s strict orders...stop smoking, exercise, and take meds. Yes, I go on waiting list in September for a lung transplant (single

She is a 7 year dyalisis patient, and last year she had a lung canceroid removed and was in ICU for a month. It was horrible, she was coughing blood and I almost lost
