How do you calculate cancer free years?
Hi All, I was diagnosed with 2B non small cell adenocarcinoma lung cancer December 2019. 2/20/2020 I had my upper left lobe removed. Beginning of March I started chemo. Last chemo 5/6/2020. Scan 6/21/2020 (NED). 2 years and 5 years are considered milestones. What date do I use as the start date

Hi I have just been diagnosed with moderate emphysema whilst having a chest ct for a benign lung nodule. This was such a shock as I have never smoked. My gp says I have to have a lung function test in the next couple of months can't do one at the minute because of covid. I am a symptomatic at the moment

Post lobectomy hernia
I had the upper right lobectomy four weeks ago and am very grateful that there was no spread and am now at this time clear, unfortunately I have now got a hernia from the main incision site. I am told it will resolve itself, when I am out and about if I sneeze of cough I have to grab my side, it

Newbie looking for advice
Hi, I'm about to have a lower left lobectomy. I'm a very fit 67 year old that runs and cylcles. I was wondering if there are any more runners on here that have had a similar operation? How long was you in hospital and how long after did you start running again?

One day at a time.
I haven't posted for awhile but I have been reading other posts. My one MRI and other test found no sign of cancer for which I am grateful. It is now 17 months since my lobectomy and 11 months since the completion of my chemotherapy. Friends ask me if I think about the cancer and the answer is NO

Advice RE my dad
Dad had upper right lobectomy December 2019 (T1C L0). There has been question about mediastinal lymph nodes since August 2019 but 3 separate biopsies returned negative, so continued to monitor. Check up CT has shown considerable growth in lymph nodes since February, so he now has to have EBUS and PET

UPDATE ON X RAY's & CT SCANS,
Not been on for a while but I did promise an update to X Rays and CT Scans. Last August I had a COPD revue at local village surgery and Asthma Nurse spotted something she was not sure about. True my COPD flare ups had reduced but I was getting more breathless. Could not have a SPYRO as I have monthly

Hi, After the 3-4 day lung transplant assessment was your prognosis mentioned if you chose to not go on the transplant list. I was given a lot of information regarding a transplant improving my quality of life and my hopefully having a few extra years if I was lucky enough to get a transplant. Consultant

Hi all, I've just had the results of a recent PET scan. The cancer nurse phoned and told me it was 81% positive for lung cancer. She said they are suggesting I go for 5 sessions of Radiotherapy. I have an appointment to go see consultant on 11th August. I was just wondering if anyone else has been given

Use of a Bluetooth tablet‐based technology to improve outcomes in lung transplantation: A pilot study.
Lung transplantation is now a prevalent treatment option for patients with end‐stage lung disease, contributing to longer life expectancy and improved quality of life.1 Despite clinical advances in the field, lung transplant recipients (LTRs) frequently experience postoperative complications that result
