in 2014 i had an x-ray taken , that led me to having a CT SCAN i was invited by my GP to the clinic to discuss my results , he said "I HAVE GOOD NEWS AND BAD NEWS " the good news is that you don't have lung cancer , but you do have EMPHYSEMA. In may 2016 i had an op. to remove my lung cancer , the tumour was about 70 mm in size. it had grown from nothing to 70mm in the space of 15 Months. How was this possible ?

emphysema or lung cancer ?
Aggressive tumours can and do grow very quickly as they run riot. It is this high level of activity that PET scans pick up on. Once you have treatment for cancer they monitor you every 3 months in case there has been any spread or cells that have been missed, during surgery or radiotherapy, that can go on to grow again. It is also the reason that treatment is treated urgently, as a priority.
The radiologist picked it up and took 6 biopsies , he said it wasn't testing as being cancerous , however my consultant said you do have cancer , then more tests , i saw the surgeon , he said it will need to be removed , which he did. I refused to have radiotherapy. I have tested clear for almost5 years minus half a lung. Tests have fallen behind because of COVID-19 , next test in December.
PS I DIDN'T HAVE ANY OTHER TREATMENTS , BEFORE OR AFTER OPERATION.
