I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, due to have
lumpectomy
next month, then there will be decisions to make about further treatments. My main questions are firstly has anyone else been in the same situation ? Were you given any information on how treatment could affect your MPN ?

In 2021 I was diagnosed with a very early breast cancer for which I had a
lumpectomy
, 4 (clear) lymph nodes taken, and put on aromatose inhibitor drugs (to prevent my body making oestrogen and help prevent the cancer recurring.)

BC metastasizes to dermis
I had a
lumpectomy
because this was in a mastectomy breast and they did not want to deconstruct the DEIP Flap reconstruction and the tumor was so small they could remove it with a
lumpectomy
. And they got clear margins.

niece has DCIS, 3 lumpectomies and now needs mastectomy
First
lumpectomy
didn’t have any clear margins, nor did the second. Breast surgeon said no need for mastectomy as so much healthy breast tissue would be removed unnecessarily. So she was persuaded to have 3rd
lumpectomy
. Today told needs mastectomy with exploration of lymph glands.

HER2 and ER positive breast cancer
I was originally scheduled for a
lumpectomy
but they found the HER2 & ER positive, so now chemo and targeted therapy followed by surgery and radiotherapy. I was very lucky that my accident led to a speedy diagnosis but I'm still dealing with the enormity of it.

Radiotherapy
Next week I go for radiotherapy for a
lumpectomy
. I have 5 days of it, being fair skinned I am worried about the 'sunburn' effect that it will probably have on me, as I stay out of the sun due to burning. Not to mention, the feeling sick! Any suggestions please?

side effects of Tamoxifen
She underwent a
lumpectomy
in her left breast, chemo, radiation and has been on hormone therapy - 1 tab of Tamoxifen a day since 2017. She must have it for 10 years i.e. upto 2027, as a preventive against recurrence of the cancer.

Hi ….from a newly dx’d comrade from the UK
I have a
lumpectomy
& sentinel lymph node removal scheduled for the 28th March. Drs Initial plan was for removal, tamoxifen & chemo….but that may have changed since MRI Undecided if I should just go for mastectomy though and I’ve read that tamoxifen is better for pre-menopausal women.

What was your lumpectomy recovery like?
I have a surgery date in a month for
lumpectomy
. I'm starting to rethink that.How was
lumpectomy
for you? Pain, mobility, appetite, appearance, etc.

Oil of Evening Primrose
I had a
lumpectomy
last May. It was a small ductal carcinoma which was invasive. I went on to have Radiotherapy and started a five year course of Letrozole. I developed bad joint pain and I had a month off to see if the Letrozole was the culprit. It was better but not gone.
