taking tablets

Hi, I am 72 years old, about a year ago had a lumpectomy because of cancer, all ok now. Was given Lectrozole because cancer linked to oestrogen. Had a bone density scan, results were Ostopenia, so given Alendronic Acid and calichew-D3.

Is anybody else on these medications?

Reading the articles on these forums is very helpful and informative.

I also take an extra vit D3 tablet 1000 IU every other day because I felt the calcichew content wasn’t enough.

Because of the possibility of calcium deposits I believe vitamin K2 puts the calcium into the bone and am considering taking this.

I shall also be asking for the results of the bone density scan after reading many of your reports.

Also have been on AA for several months taking the effervescent tablet in water. Recently experiencing lower back pain quite severe when bending over or turning over in bed, don’t know if it’s linked, hope to discuss this with a clinician soon

Hi Cheeseand,

There is a factsheet that explains about K1 and K2 within it, that I hope you find useful. Or you could ring the Royal Osteoporosis helpline to discuss this with a specialist nurse. Their free phone number is 0808 800 0035. strwebprdmedia.blob.core.windows.net/media/v2pdyew4/ros-further-food-facts-and-bones.pdf

Hi ROSAdmin2

Would you tell me where to find the Factsheet on K1 and K2 please.

I’ve done a search on the ROS website and all it’s bringing up is Vitamin D and others unrelated information.

I’ve copied and pasted the link you provided onto the ROS website and it comes up ‘no results found’.

Thanks
