Lumpectomy

Its a double whammy as 18 years ago I had radiation and chemo following a lumpectomy for breast cancer. This new primary lung cancer together with infection developed in lung tissue right below the breast cancer radiation area. The clinicians think there may be a link.

Pet lit up but also lit up in breast and it’s not cancer just scar tissue from lumpectomy 17 years and reduction 2 years ago. So thanks for anyone with insight.

Hi, all you fabulous ladies, well went for results today from my Lumpectomy, I was scared beyond belief......My results were with my Mc Millien nurse who is lovely....and it's not all bad news, it's still a Grade 2, clear margins were taken, and it's not in my Lymphnodes...YAY!!!

Please help me understand how it is possible when the lumpectomy report stated that cancer was seen on one of the resected margins???? Was mastectomy unnecessary or is there something that I am missing?????

As you ladies know my Lumpectomy was yesterday, I won't lie it was a pretty intense day ,I was so scared..... but I did it, I at home now resting , I go back to hospital next Friday for the results, and then the next step of treatment .x

I had chemo, lumpectomy, lymphectomy, and radiation. I was told all cancer was removed. I had 13 lymph nodes removed that were all negative. In April 2018 I found an enlarged lymph node in my neck. It was biopsied and came back positive.

June is the anniversary of my lumpectomy, so I've had a year to process what's happened so far and I'm feeling ready to reach out into the community. My breast cancer was picked up on a routine mammogram, there was no lump.

So as you amazing ladies know, I've been diagnosed with BC, just need to know, as im booked in on Wednesday for Lumpectomy, ....I wear acrylic overlays on my own nails, I've got a gel polish on, so I can take that off no probs, but has the acrylic got to come off as well, I've just had an infill done

Wishing all you ladies out there regardless of where you are in your BC journey a wonderful day :-) And I have a question - nearly 2 years ago I had my lumpectomy, removal of sentinel node and 16 session of radiotherapy everything has healed fine and apart from a small scar everything looks quite 'normal

didn't want to look at it,but got a bit brave...... it's a tiny white blob, an not so scary , first of all it's still small 2cm, caught early, and not been in me a long time, other positives i can't remember all the info he gave me BUT it wasn't all bad, I , already booked in for Pre-Op on Tues, ...Lumpectomy

Hi Can anyone suggest if we get separate kind of bras for lumpectomy patients? I has lumpectomy 3 years back. Initially the difference was not much visible but I suppose since I am overweight with time the other breast has sagged so now difference is much more prominent.

I was diagnosed with stage 1a, grade 2 IDC - had lumpectomy with clear margins, now on tamoxifen and about to start radiotherapy. I’m 34 years old with a five month old and a : year old, so I’m struggling a little bit!

In May 2015 I was diagnosed with breast cancer with lymph node involvement... had a lumpectomy, lymph node clearance, chemo followed by radiotherapy... my recovery from my previous injury was also impeded I believe.

Her operation is done, lumpectomy is performed. All limb notes are negative. She has gone through with 6 chemos already. And today her PET Scan is going on. So I was wondering is Radiation required.

so painful the nurse had to abandon it,she didn't get the sepulcum thingy open before the pain was excruciating and I told her to stop,we tried 3 times and it was so painful.Now I will have to go back to a different nurse in 2 weeks time.Im no wimp I've done chemotherapy and radiotherapy and painful lumpectomy

Lumpectomy and radiation. Oncotype score was 26. I had a 15% chance of recurrence. That would be 13% chance if I did chemo. I did not. Started shots in February of folsadex. Just added Xgeva in March. Expecting to take Ibrance and letrozole starting next week.

Hello I was diagnosed with BC in 2009 and after lumpectomy, sentinel lymph node biopsy and radio was started on Tamoxifen for 10yrs. I was 33yrs at time of diagnosis. I am about to start my 9th year of Tamoxifen and consider myself extremely lucky.

Had breast cancer in 2010 with chino and radiotherapy, also a lumpectomy. Went recently about a sciatic nerve problem and ended up having scans which found I had metastatic cancer in my back. Have lost over a stone in weight through not eating. Very depressed and anxious.

I had a lumpectomy followed by 8 rounds of chemotherapy and 20 sessions of radiotherapy. Have had my first mammogram and was clear😊. Is there any one out there with TNBC?? I haven't met anyone who has it. Would be good to hear from anyone.
