Nerve pain after vats Lobectomy
Hi folks- yes I have nerve pain and I’m back to the gp today to get meds to help with the pain. I tried to stop the dihydrocideine but I’m afraid I couldn’t cope with the pain. Lung nurse and consultant talked about taking Amitriptyline for this pain. I’m fit to fly in 3 weeks for a holiday but want

Cancer Nurse Specialist and Thoracic Nurse Specialist
Hi all - I'm not sure if everybody likehere in Bristol (the Bristol Royal Infirmary to be exact) having already had curative resection of LLL
lobectomy
I, and all patients in a similar position attending the same hospital, are lucky to have access to both the above grade of nurses.

Nerve pain after vats Lobectomy
Hi folks- although I got the all clear for the lung cancer I’ve had a swelling under right breast since1st week(now 4 weeks since surgery). Dr thought at first it was infection or shingles- it’s neither. Looks like nerve pain. It’s holding back my recovery. Anyone any experience of this and any suggestions

Trying to stay positive
It's been 8 days since my
lobectomy
. Spent 5 of those in the hospital and am now home. Pain has changed over the past couple of days, with what feels more like nerve pain and numbness under my right breast. I also have a large water blister from the dressing tape. All I want to do is sleep.

Good news
No further treatment required after the
Lobectomy
. I’m still recovering but this makes end seem so much closer. This was another primary- 3rd one in 10 months. I’ve now conquered skin cancer, breast cancer and lung cancer!! Follow ups obviously but I can deal with that.

Adjuvant Chemotherapy
I had a LLL
lobectomy
on 18th June and I am currently awaiting an appointment to see the oncologist to discuss adjuvant chemotherapy. Given my cancer is squamous cell stage 2B and the tumor was over 5cm and cavitating follow up chemo is advised to decrease risk of recurrence.

Post lower right lobectomy I have LPR
Has anyone developed LPR after lung surgery? I have been taking PPI med and Gaviscon Advance for about 7 weeks but still have bouts of hoarse voice, breathlessness, noisy breathing, occasional cough. I'm waiting for an endoscopy but what can be done? My consultant tells me my lung has expanded quite

Nodule relapse
After having a
lobectomy
in January 2018, my last scan at 18 months showed a nodule in my right lower and middle lobes. Also a swollen lymph node #10 if that make sense. My Doctor says do no panic. Hmmm easy to say. I guess I read too much and it does not appear the stats are good.

Post RP No RT Allowed :(
I have looked at many posts but did not see anyone with similar story: Question: If no RT post RP, presumably ever to the pelvic region, then what? What is the "hit it hard early" treatment option? How worried should we be that he can't have radiation? Recap: 53 yo husband PSA in Dec 2018 was 33+, finally

Heel Pain
So my mom has been doing amazing following her
lobectomy
/thoracotomy. Like mentioned before cancer did not spread to lymph nodes, but she will go to the oncologist as soon as insurance arrives to rule out anything. It has been 2 months since surgery.

Recliner or reading pillow?
I have two weeks before my
lobectomy
, so needless to say I'm on pins and needles and trying to get ready for what's coming is all I can think of! As I talk to some who have had the same surgery or read here and in other forums, I am getting very different opinions on this.

Swelling after vats upper right Lobectomy
Hi folks Alison again- just over a week ago I had the above procedure and came home last Friday. Surgical Follow Up Appointment Tomorrow
My post
lobectomy
follow up appointment with the Thoracic team is tomorrow. I'm not sure what the process is at my local hospital. Does anybody know the standard process? Do they send you for an updated x-ray or scan?

Has anybody else had problems with removal of stitches following lobectomy
Hi everybody. Hope everybody is managing to find some time to relax and enjoy the good weather this weekend. A little sunshine is almost always cheering. I attended my GP surgery on Friday to have stitches removed. One of the wounds is left with paper/dissolving stitches which day 13 don't appear
