F3/F4 Diagnoses
Hi All. This is my first post. I had a fibroscan back in July and the nurse who performed it told me I had high-level F3, possibly creeping into F4. I’ve been referred to the Cirrosis Surveillance Team at my local hospital, but my first appointment isn’t until the middle of October. I’ve done a lot of

question about cirrhosis
Has anyone had cirrhosis from Hep C, portal hypertension, enlarged spleen, diabetes. All these diagnoses have my anxiety at a high level.

Chromogenic Factor X Blood Test
Does anyone use this blood test, instead of or in conjunction with a Protime, to monitor their level of anti-coagulation? Successful? Many thanks for your responses.

Diagnosed with cirrhosis in2022 from hepatitis C. Got treatment for the hepatitis and cured. Now it’s every 6 months of scans and bloodwork with is always said to be stable. This month the scan showed severe enlarged spleen most likely due to increased portal hypertension. Went from 1 to1.3cm. Still

good news on fibroscan
after worrying about my husband’s fibroscan today, all went well. He was told he has no scarring on his liver and just a little bit of fat (she said to be expected with almost 79 year old). Re his high blood reading (ELF 9.8) the grapher also said that levels can fluctuate and his one high reading

Cirrhosis of the liver , fluid
Hi everyone. Hope you are all well. I have Cirrhosis of the liver and after a review with my consultant 2 weeks ago we stopped my spironolactone. Everything seemed fine, kept and eye on weight as was told and between Saturday and Sunday I suddenly gained 4 pounds. On Friday I had root canal treatment

Hi Everyone, Does anybody know which blood tests, as in lliver enzymes and LFT's, might reflect portal hypertension and/or liver congestion? Thanks in advance, Terry

Fibroscan criteria
Hello Folks, I'm getting a fibroscan done on Tuesday, my first time. My doctor and specialist said they don't think I have anything as serious as cirrhosis, given that my last three ultrasounds done jn 2021, 2023 and August 13, 2024 all showed the same thing: grade 1 steatosis (mild fatty liver) with

update
I have spoken to my liver nurse who said I am on the cusp of liver cirrhosis, does then mean I have liver cirrhosis or still have fatty liver?

Fibroscan and Biopsy Showing Wildly Different Results
Really could use some help! So I've had yet another Fibroscan with the results showing the same as before, basically Level 0-1 fibrosis. Can someone please help reconcile those results with my recent liver biopsy showing Stage 3-4 advanced liver disease transitioning to cirrhosis? My hepatologist theorizes

Advice required please
Hi, hoping someone here can help/advise. I was diagnosed with PBC 18 months ago and thankfully I have responded to Urso Acid. From the start I was on Ursofalk but this month the prescription I have just collected is Cholurso. Are they all the same and it’s just a generic name from a manufacturer?

Good News on NAFLD and Rezdiffra
In March 2024, my wife had two Fibroscans, 14.2 and 14.7 with CAP in high 300's. She had a biopsy in July confirming severe steatosis and F3 fibrosis verging on F4. University of Utah liver clinic recommended a new drug called Rezdiffra. It's pricy like any new drug. But, there are foundations

liver enzymes elevated after Urso brand change.
I have had PBC since 2004 with stable liver enzymes until approximately one year ago. I realize it may be disease progression but am wondering because I had an insurance company change just before their elevation and my new insurance company switched me to a different generic brand of ursodiol. Does

Covid and liver pain
Hello Everyone, Does anybody know if having covid puts added stress on the liver? I ask because I've recently had covid with fairly mild symptoms and towards the end of my recovery back to normal, one day I felt some discomfort on the right side around the bottom of my rib cage. I have mild fatty liver

Continued Journey
I’m at day +72 from my BMT. On day +70 on had labs and met with the medical team. Some of my concerns with weight loss and declining platelets were considered. I had finally regained some weight 3lbs. This was an indication the steroid budesonide was beginning to help food absorption of nutrients.

Conflicting fibroscan and ultrasound results
Hello allA few months ago I had a fibroscan, following a series of raised blood test levels. It took over 2 months to get the result but when it came, it was 49.8 (with suboptimal parameters). My ribs are close together and my liver is placed higher in my abdomen than usual. I was advised that the result

I have had long covid for over 2 years. In March I had my 3rd bout. My gp sent me for routine bloods. My GGT was 3x the upper range and ALP raised too. Liver ultrasound was clear and over next 3 months GGT improved a little but nowhere near to normal. Recently breathing worsening among many other

This is day +67 for me since by Bone Marrow Transplant. Happy Labor Day here in the USA. I had been cruising along with a few seemingly minor issues. GI tract at times has been an issue especially with bowel movements. As I was weened off the steroid Prednisone I have recently been put on the steroid
