After 20 years my GP has refused to continue prescribing
Liothyronine
. The endo who originally prescribed it has since retired and the endo unit told my doctor that they won't prescribe it either.

Which make of T3 ?
The label on the pot says
liothyronine
sodium ( tri-iodothyronine) 20 micrograms tablets. I think they are Mercury pharma. They do seem to be giving me a lot of heartburn/chest pressure. Wondering if there is an alternative or if anyone knows of a way to keep the pain at bay.

Liothyronine cost
Was pulled in to see my consultant today to be told that my
liothyronine
won't be prescribed at present due to cost!! Yet all my levels are the best they have ever been since I had my thyroid removed 8 years ago. To say that I am not happy at all is an understatement.

T3 - The fight goes on!!
In the PAC doc it states: “Needs of the community, Current high cost of treatment with
liothyronine
associated with a small number of patients represents a financial risk to the whole healthcare economy and will result in cost pressure to other treatment areas.”

I Have Low T3 and recently suffered terrible leg pain before my leg collapsed. Could this be linked?
For 4 to 6 weeks I took T3 (
Liothyronine
[3 - 16 mcg/d]) and found my total cholesterol dropped 2 points, evidence of blood in urine disappeared, pulse rate increased from mid-40's to mid-50's, lost 1 stone in weight and felt normal for the first time in years.

Does anyone know if Mercury Pharma Lio is still available and whether the price has dropped since the license was made available to other companies?

Rhabdomyolysis in a patient complicated with hypopituitarism and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome and the literature review
Where was the T3 (
liothyronine
)? Why wasn't T3 given? Of course, they might have considered it but decided that the other issues precluded its use. Would be good to know more. [i]Am J Emerg Med. 2018 Jun 7. pii: S0735-6757(18)30481-9. doi: 10.1016/j.ajem.2018.06.019.

New to Liothyronine Medication
She put me on
liothyronine
25mcg ( half in the am and half in pm). I missed my first does and took half at 1 pm. My question is when will it be ok to take my next dose and should I start feeling effects like energy boosts soon after my first dose?

Blood results - help! New here
I was put on
Liothyronine
25 mcg twice daily for a month in March this year and felt better on that and managed to lose a couple of pounds too (impossible beforehand). I'm now back on 2 grain NDT and feeling foggy headed, exhausted and all the rest - not as bad as not having anything but not good.
