Linaclotide..... (Constella)
When I start the
linaclotide
I'll stop the laxido but was planning on continuing with the optifibre. If anyone has experience with
linaclotide
any and all feedback and information would be massively appreciated. Thanks for reading, John.

Stopped taking Linaclotide (Constella/Linzess) for chronic (idiopathic) constipation, a new medicine for me to try.
Lower dosages than 290mcg
linaclotide
(145mcg and 72mcg) for chronic constipation have already been approved by the FDA in the USA.

AGA - American College of Gastroenterology Clinical Practice Guideline: Pharmacological Management of Chronic Idiopathic Constipation - 2023
Based on available evidence, the panel made strong recommendations for the use of polyethylene glycol, sodium picosulfate,
linaclotide
, plecanatide, and prucalopride for CIC in adults. Conditional recommendations were made for the use of fiber, lactulose, senna, magnesium oxide, and lubiprostone.

Pregabalin and IBSc
My doctor is convinced that Pregablin alongside
linaclotide
will do the trick. Does anybody else have any experience with Pregablin for IBSc?

Anyone Taking Linaclotide?
Anyway, my question is to those here who take, or have taken
Linaclotide
: have any of you experienced strange bruising? I seem to have a lot more bruising than usual.

People of HU - 'A day in a life' living with IBS
Prior to bedtime around 11:00pm, I have 30 drops of ginger extract in a little water to aid motility, take another 200mg calcium citrate with 2.5mcg vitamin D capsule and
Linaclotide
which is for IBS-C with visceral hypersensitivity.

Slow transit/IBS and Optifibre
I have slow transit constipation and IBS and am currently prescribed Resolor,
Linaclotide
and Dulcolax. I have tried Probio7 Advanced for the past year but that didn’t seem helpful. The other medications are somewhat effective although I still suffer with constipation and bloating.

Drastically worse IBS-C/constipation for no apparent reason, after 19 years
I went from needed 1 movicol a day, to needing 6 movicol, multiple different stimulants, and finding older medicines like
linaclotide
, milk of magnesia or senna don't work. An x-ray showed nothing, so not cancer. It's so bad that my next step is to request to be fitted with a stoma bag.

Scared.
He referred me to go and get an ultrasound and to take
linaclotide
for my constipation. I am so nervous about this ultrasound for a tumour or something like that. I have never been so nervous. Also am getting blood work done this afternoon.

IBS C flare up.
Spoke on here before about a horrible flare up a few months back and was put on 290 micrograms of
linaclotide
one daily. After a few weeks symptoms went away and now 3 months later having another flare up, but it seems to be coming on very slowly.

Linaclotide - a potential saviour for IBS-C sufferers?
My Gastro finally prescribed
Linaclotide
290mg per day. I'd never heard of it beforehand. At first, it was a mini marvel - until it appeared to stop working after a few weeks, much to my dismay.

Is 145mcg or 72mcg Linaclotide available in the UK?
Has anyone been able to get 145mcg or 72mcg
Linaclotide
in the UK? I have been on 290mcg of the Constella brand under the NHS for the bad visceral pain that I get starting 2am-5am when my large intestine wakes up.
