How effective is linclotide for severe constipation

and will GPs prescribe it?

My family have no experience with this, my son has managed his with first line laxatives. However, linaclotide is on the National Formulary so there is no reason why it can't be prescribed. It is usually what is called third line, that is the GP needs to try other things first. If you look at your local CCG/ICS website it will say if there are any restrictions on this.
