sinemet and mucuna pruriens
Dear Comunity I am anxious about my mother age 76. She is taking 6 tbl. of sinemet a day. I found out that Mucuna Pruriens is an option. I was able to find MP with 15% of L-Dopa. How to use it ? Thanks for helping.

Carbodopa levodopa frequency and dosage
My fathers neurologist said he can only take 2
levodopa
/carbodopa pills at a time but increase the frequency as needed. My father does not have an issue with the frequency, its just that 2 pills at a time are not enough. Is this doctors recommendation correct?

dyskinesia and dystonia
hello Am I right that dyskinesia (involuntary movement) of eg mouth and tongue may be caused by either PD symptoms getting worse or a side effect of L-Dopa medication? How do you know which it is? Could someone provide me with a lay person’s definition of the difference between dystonia and dyskinesia

Who wakes up “on”?
Can you please indicate if when you wake up you need a dose of
levodopa
to be able to move, and who feels best first thing before a dose? I just found this picture.

My Liver on Kratom....
I was on DAs (carbidopa-
levodopa
, pramipexole) for about 35 years until finally augmenting on prami about a year ago (2021). I've spent countless hours researching over the years and have tried every diet, supplement, or treatment that you can think of.

Tapering down Levodopa any advice ?
Hi I’m new here and London, UK based. I’m trying to wean off Sinemet (total dose per day 75/300) slowly and completely after taking it for 4 months (since diagnosis). I’ve had more intense non- motor symptoms (e.g. depression exhaustion) trying to come off than before I started the meds. I’m wondering

Finding some negatives on Berberine (I will keep digging)
EDIT March 17, 2024:
Today somebody shared a link to a two year old post of mine about a report on Berberine being neurotoxic and taking it off of my stack. Within a few months I found other information on Berberine and, using my High School educated brain, decided that Berberine definitely needed

Phosphodiesterase 9 inhibition prolongs the antiparkinsonian action of l-DOPA in parkinsonian non-human primates
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35461880/ These results indicate that cGMP upregulation interacts with dopamine signaling to enhance the l-DOPA reversal of parkinsonian motor disability. Therefore, striatal PDE9 inhibition may be further explored as a strategy to improve motor responses to l-DOPA in

Sudden loss of ability to move?
He's been labeled "Possible CBD" because he didn't respond to
levodopa
like a normal Parkinson's patient. But does this sound more like PSP? Thanks in advance for any pointers!
