Depression and drugs
We are experimenting now with carbidopa-
levodopa
, to help with stiffness. This is an experiment because hubby’s DAT scan does not reveal Parkinson’s. We think he has Parkinsonism traits, but not Parkinson’s (CONFUSING!).

Skipping doses?
A week of January, and doses he’s missed along the way of the Carbidopa
Levodopa
. I’m beside myself. So I threw it all under the sink and opened the box he should be on right now. Is this purposeful? Inability? Stubbornness? Rant over.

Mucuna my natural protocol
I was trying to duplicate the same relief time I got from the synthetic
levodopa
roughly 4 hours. It didn't take long before I figured out 3/8 of a teaspoon worked for me. I mixed it with water then and now I use green tea.

The journey of Levodopa inside the intestine.
It is the case of Tyrosine Decarboxylase which converts
Levodopa
in Dopamine despite the presence of Carbidopa wich is a decarboxylase inhibitor. Therefore I wonder if drinking a lot at the time of taking
Levodopa
may be some solution.

Trying to find the best Mucuna Pruriens
I know there have been many discussions on this forum regarding the use of Mucuna Pruriens. My husband has been trying to figure out which brand and type may work best for him. I thought it would be a good idea for members who use Mucuna Pruriens to comment on the brand they use, type (powder or pill

Sinemet now unavailable in New Zealand
The new substitute called Kinson which they say is the same but I think the product that disperses the
levodopa
ect is not good.It does not help me the same and I get headaches and feel down on it. Has any one else had this happen. I also have tried amatadine and benzotropine but they were worse.

Zandopa and Mucuna Pruriens
Hi all! I have a couple of questions for you all. My husband is 54 and was diagnosed with PD in 2015. He has tried a number of meds, but eventually found that Zandopa along with C/L worked best. However, Zandopa underwent a change several months ago and it stopped working for him like it used to.

Too much Sinemet
I've read that the carbodopa to
levodopa
ratio should be 1:4. In any case, after 4.5 years on the drug, my wife began experiencing symptoms which were alarming to me. Blurred vision, a host of cognitive issues, hallucinations, anxiety, depression.

Sinemet - sleep problems
Started Sinemet 1/2/19. 3 x 12.5 / 50. Doubled it as instructed 3/3/19. Sleeping badly, feeling worried and low, can't taste food. Decided yesterday to go back to original dose, and hopefully bring in high dose thiamin. New to this forum. Have had brilliant advice from PwP who runs a website. She was

Who is active here who has Early Onset Parkinson's Disease?
I'm concerned about the possibility of dyskinesia, which is more likely to occur when people with Early Onset PD take
levodopa
. One study found that 70% of PwP who were diagnosed in their 40s developed dyskinesia within 5 years of starting
levodopa
. Anyone have any experience with this?

The Metabolism of L-Dopa - Are Cytochrome P450 enzymes being ignored?
