Glandular meds for cortisol anybody?
Morning thyroid team I have a slither of my thyroid gland left and am adequarly treated (I am told), with Levo. Next Endo' appointment in September, though am bringing it foward because I am so terribly tired/unwell if I attempt to do anything such as leave the house. My thyroid tests in May/June

Hydrocortisone and LDN?
Hi all, wondering if anyone has tried hydrocortisone and LDN at the same time? I've just started low-dose HC for very low cortisol (ahead of adding T3 to T4 shortly, trying to make it easier on adrenal system). I keep going back and forth about LDN and whether it's worth trying or if it's too much at

cortisol 24 hour urine result
can anyone read this result? I am unsure what it means. I know the urine and blood tests are pretty rubbish so I have ordered a saliva. But for now this is what I have from the nhs endocrinologist. I have a new private app in a few weeks to see a new endo who can hopefully help me with the low cortisol

Liothyronine Trial
I saw an NHS Endocrinologist last week who has agreed to my request for a 3 month trial of Liothyronine, something I have wanted for many years. The suggestion is to drop from 75mcg levothyroxine daily to 25mcg and to take 5mcg of T3 in the morning and again at lunchtime. After nearly 20 years on Levo

Low Cortisol levels
Hello, I’ve been steadily tapering back to 5 mg after a flare, currently on 7 mg of Pred, and I have been feeling pretty rough most days, the usual fatigue, stiffness, etc. I had my annual physical, my doctor ordered blood test, I was surprised to see my CRP levels were all normal, as were all the

Prednisolone taper
Hi everyone Been tapering from 5mg Pred for adrenal insufficiency and managed to get down to 3mg last week. Then down to 2.5mg and begun to feel unwell so went back to 3mg. The last few days I've been feeling a bit nauseous and my stomach has been sore. So I upped my steroid to 10mg (sick day rules)

Recommendation re supplements
Hi allI'm fairly new to the forum and I'm finding all your info and wealth of experience extremely helpful. Have learnt that addressing possible nutritional deficiencies is important before Thyroid hormone therapy can be optimally effective. I have Hashimotos and recently posted full thyroid panel results

Persistence
After weekly visits to my GP’s for months with one symptom after another and lots of test and scan’s completed, without any firm diagnosis, success! They completed a blood test (advised by my dentist)and the test showed I have a low cortisol level. I am being referred to an Endocrinologist to get a diagnosis

low cortisol
I saw the Rheumy doctor over a month ago and her flippant diagnosis mirrored so many others’. About the same time a random telephone health check from my health centre showed my BP was 175/75 and I was quickly prescribed amlodopine . The rheumatologist was adamant my symptoms did not reflect PMR

Supplements for adrenal support
I’ve been researching supplements for low cortisol / adrenal support and find the whole subject very confusing. Some information suggests that high cortisol is the reason for adrenal fatigue and recommends supplements which are ‘calming’ and lower cortisol. Other sources claim, quite rightly, that

private consult
I went to see the private endocrinologist consultant. He was very much guided by the GP letter. Low cortisol saliva test - I’m going back on Monday morning for private blood tests x3 to rule out a rare pituitary condition. He feels certain i do not have it. Multi nodular goitre - it is visibly larger

Low cortisol: will it improve when I'm on HRT?
I think I just keep asking the same question but in various different ways. 😂 I work term time only and every half term I'm full of optimism about what me and the kids can do and how much I'll get done in the house and inevitably I spend all week on the sofa. It's the same every time. I recognise

Latest Endo visit.... bit weird 😕 When all seems lost just say NO 😉
Started with being told I would have to drop my dose as not happy with TSH 0.05 talked all about this (T4 48% T3 95%) risk of heart and bone damage blah blah..... I pointed out that we had tried that before and it didn't go well for me... threatened to cut me loose if I didn't reduce! Continued to bang

Chemo may be helping
Hi Fellow Fighters, Prior to my third round of Taxotere last Friday, I had blood work done. After 2 rounds, my PSA dropped 4.7 points. TBH, I feel like crap today, but the results are promising. My blood work also showed low cortisol levels, how concerned should I be about that? Thanks.

cortisol and oestrogen is there a link?
i’m a complicated case, but curious about hrt and cortisol. Don’t want to bore anyone with full history, in a nutshell. Hashimoto 2018, Graves 2021. Off all meds currently, but six months ago started body identical hrt. My cortisol is now 160 at 9am. Does oestrogen cause low cortisol, or should i get

Has anyone retested their cortisol levels whilst using adrenal glandular supplements and seen any improvement?
I've been taking adrenal glandular for 4 months, recent serum cortisol shows no improvement than before, is it too soon? Wondering if I should do another saliva cortisol? I feel better for taking it so loathed to stop.... maybe I should give it longer?
