cortisol and oestrogen is there a link?

i’m a complicated case, but curious about hrt and cortisol. Don’t want to bore anyone with full history, in a nutshell. Hashimoto 2018, Graves 2021. Off all meds currently, but six months ago started body identical hrt. My cortisol is now 160 at 9am. Does oestrogen cause low cortisol, or should i get a endo referral?

Estrogen usually pushes Cortisol up if in an Estrogen Dominant state. However, all the sex hormones are interlinked and Thyroid is the Master Gland working closely with the Adrenals. All need to be in balance for optimal health.

I suspect it was progesterone that suppressed cortisol production for me but I'm not sure if this is universal for hypothyroid people (I've seen a few others on here mention similar); this was before I got a hashimoto's diagnosis i.e. no thyroid treatment of any kind.
