Where to go from here
I am feeling utterly despondent and quite frankly mentally debilitated after my audiology assessment. The mere thought of hospitals induces a fear within myself I can't describe. Something about the clinical nature of the whole procedure is quite scary. Regardless, after having my first appointment

Visit to Audiology Dept. coming up, any advice would be welcome
I have an appointment booked at the NHS Hospital Audiology Department for a hearing assessment later this month, Any advice at to what to expect, and what I should ask about, would be very welcome. I have coped with tinnitus, mainly in my left ear, for 53 years. I'm now 70. I had a bad setback last

Seen ENT specialist
Hi all, thought I'd give you a further update as I saw an ENT specialist yesterday. Please note that I live in Spain. Firstly, I was very impressed. He said there are 30 medical conditions which can cause T! He was very thorough and gave me alot if confidence in what he has proposed moving forwards

Update - MRI Scan Results
Good Morning Everyone, For those of you who asked me to let you know when I got the results from my MRI Scan...well, I received a letter on Saturday! The good news is that I am classed as being 'normal' and there is nothing untoward happening, but the not so good news is that I have now been discharged

Capacity Assessment
What is the purpose of a capacity assessment for someone with
learning
disabilities
. Are they necessary? My son is 47 with severe
learning
disabilities
and was assessed by a psychologist in 2014 due to increased anxiety.

Hearing Aids!
Hi everyone, I am just sat here wondering if I may need a Hearing Aid to help with my T. When I was first diagnosed with T I went to see an Audiologist at Specsavers, who told me my hearing was OK for 'someone of my age'. Fair enough I thought haha! I then decided to get a second opinion, so I went

ENT referral
Hi, After a private hearing test I was told to give results to GP as left ear is noticeably worse than my right. I've had slightly worse hearing in my left ear for years maybe even 7 or 8 but it wasn't bad, just noticeably not as good so never really paid it any attention, I do very occasionally have

Care home closing, lack of communication from Social Services
Hi, My brother lives in a small care home for 6 people who all have severe
learning
disabilities
and have high-level care needs. The service who run the care home gave notice of the home closing 3 months ago and social services were immediately informed, as were family members.
