Laxido

Not really tried Zantac yet but find Buscopan great but with Laxido gives me the runs.

The much cheaper generic one Laxido has two E numbers in it. E950 and E1520. I have a suspicious mind and always try to avoid food with E numbers in as much as I can, especially in something I take regularly. I will be pleased to hear your comments.

A consultant two years ago and my present doctor tell me to reduce my daily dose of Laxido (Movicol) from 2+ sachets per day to 1 sachet, and I want to do so.

I am taking my usual pain meds and laxido which usually take care of things. I've recently had to increase my steroids and am having usual things like cider vinegar, anti inflammatory diet (I'm very strict).

Hi all I have been fortunate to see a very understand, compassionate consultant who has finally listened to my experience with chronic constipation (I take 8-10 laxido a day, 4 docusate, 4 Senna, a suppository every other day and occasionally picosulfate and still find myself having little urge to use

We stopped laxido for obvious reasons. However I’m unsure when to introduce it again. When have others reintroduced their maintenance dose after diarrhoea? Many thanks for any advice.

My 3 year old has recently started taking laxido as he has been withholding. He's been doing pretty well so far and has had a bowel movement most days for the past two weeks, although not through his own initiative.

Gp gave me laxido last thursday. Taking 6 sachets a day- no change. Fed up with cramps and discomfort. Do I go back to Gp? Tried massage, exercise, acupressure...... everything!!!!

I have tried some days of Lactulose then some of Laxido and some of Dulcolax softener: they have all made me go a bit but I know that there is still a huge backlog in there. I can take four sachets of Laxido for three days and just do a few hard tiny pieces.

Yesterday he didn't have a bowel movement again so I'm planning to up his laxido dose. His poos are already very soft though, he just doesn't seem to know how to get them out.

I spoke with GP and he said continue lactulose but this didn't work so called again and got laxido. After few days (weekend) when I did a lot of reading, I realised that he gave us a wrong advice on how to do disimpactation. I then followed Eric and NICE and did It.

GP has increased laxido to 3-4 sachets and added 5ml lactose twice a day. She is still soiling, but has passed some poo in the loo (very small amounts, quite soft) Any advice on how long it usually takes for the increased dose to help clear the blockage?

The paediatrician had said that as oxybutynin causes constipation, we may have to tweak the laxido/senna but this all started happening before she was on oxybutynin.....

I take Laxido everyday to keep me going. For about 18 months, I’ve noticed some days my stomach and guts just gurgle like crazy after I eat. Even just if it’s a small amount of food.

We then give her 2 sachets of laxido mixed in flavoured water and then 15ml senokot. I was hoping to find out why she has constipation and to get her fixed. We didn't get new answers going private.

My thyroid is removed, my womb tubes and ovary gone, I have bradycardia and a ectopic heart beat, i have to take laxido to help me with my bowels and I wake up with headache and the feeling of sickness.

She was given Picolax eventually to clear her out because she wasn’t tolerating the fluids needed to take with laxido. She has now not eaten in 8 days and is drinking very little...says she feels sick and is still having these bursts of pain.

I did have terrible pain in my bowels before the operation and have been taking Laxido for the past 3 months. Getting worried as it seems to be getting worse.

So I took 3 laxido yesterday and managed to have some movement haha but I still feel horrendously constipated how long can it take for constipation to resolve itself? I knew after one movement it might not mean it’s completely resolved.
