PD or LBD and what about me?
My husband of 12 years was diagnosed with Parkinson's four years ago at the age of 51. It was never a definitive diagnosis and depending who we see, I can tell that they have doubts. We're in Canada, so no one will give him a SPECT or PET scan to even attempt to confirm a diagnosis. His on and off episodes

Bathroom issues
Dad was having severe constipation, up to 7 days. Even with lachulose twice a day and prune juice. No results. Even slow results with using suppository. Neurologist just stopped sinemet to see if that helps. It seems to have helped but now he has been unable to urinate and now has a catheter last

Thanksgiving Day Tremors!
I know, it is not Thanksgiving Day yet! But I have to share this story. Ok, so I forego going to church yesterday so that I can get up early to do my Thanksgiving dinner shopping. Well , I don't really go to church much, but it sounds good, right? I always have to bundle up when I go to almost any

Question about Azilect
I am a stage3 possible 4 person with Parkinson's. I've taken very little pharmaceutical drugs so far. Mostly supplements. Is Azilect mostly for early stage 1 or 2 pwp? Can Azilect possibly help me at this late stage in my progression? Sinemet doesn't seem to work well for me. Please help.

Sinemet and Restoril (Temazepam)
Has anyone heard that using Sinemet and Restoril together reduces the effectiveness of Sinemet? I take Sinenet and have been using Ambien for sleep for awhile but would like to get off of it as its effectiveness has been decreasing. I'll be talking to my doctor about this on my next visit, but I would

Vivid Dreams
Last night I had a nighmare and I awoke to find my husband grabbing my arm because I nearly hit him. I was, apparently, thrashing both arms in the air. Does anyone ele have this? I am on sinemet, 13 tabs daily in divided doses and was diagnosed in DEC 2015. Sheila

Duac Gel for acne
Why have I not discovered this before?? I had previously had to manage topical treatment with Zineryt which worked at first but was messy and smelly. I started this gel on Monday and the results started overnight! Massive reduction in cystic acne severity. Redness reduced greatly- less angry looking.

My tremor exacerbated by taking a B-complex
Recently I found that I needed more and more Sinemet and still could not effectively manage tremor. After noting anything and everything that had occurred or I had changed about my routine that may have caused the exacerbation, I started reversing course. Finally discovered it was a B vitamin complex

Newly diagnosed with young onset PD
Hi! I'm 23 and recently have been diagnosed with Parkinson's. I'm working on finishing up my bachelors in college. I still live at home with my parents and sister, which can be helpful, but difficult as well because they know somethings wrong, but do not know that recently I was diagnosed. I tried telling

Medication not working
Has anyone ever tried to ween themselves off of sinemet. My mom is 80 years old and has had Parkinson's for six years. She has a very mild form of Parkinson's and I think the Parkinson's medicine is making her worse and other areas. I'd like to see her try something natural instead. She fights

Just been diagnosed with PD does anyone have anything positive? It's quite scary! I take Sinemet and it helps somewhat but I am still really stiff down my left side.

Depression is gone.
One thing that has happened to me since I started Sinemet is that my depression has left. Most all the time I'm actually happy. I'm very grateful for this. It's such a wonderful feeling after being so depressed for so very long. My GP says it's because no matter how much serotonin you have it can not

Hi everyone. Have any of you come across this before. My hubby ger is still taking a very low dose of sinemet even though he has PSP, and a low dose anti depressant, sertraline, plus BP meds. Have just finished a weeks 'boot camp' and although tired from all the physical therapy, have pushed myself to limits I never thought would be possible again. Being on max dose of Mirapexin and Azelect the Nurologist recommended I start Sinemet. Thanks to my wife's research we found the centre and decided
