Decision to medicate
Hi, I wanted to share my experience for anyone out there who might be on the fence about medicating. I am not a doctor or an expert. I’m just sharing my personal experience. My son was diagnosed with severe ADHD, anxiety and OCD. They also recommended further testing for Autism spectrum disorder.

A couple of quick questions: First, has anyone ever had an issue where they feel that their doctor has them on too low a dosage and refuses to increase it claiming that anything above my dosage increases my chances of developing side effects? I am currently on 30 mgs (which, to be fair is, several milligrams

Questioning NP aversion to stimulant medication for 12yr old
Our 12 year old is newly diagnosed ADHD combination in December. This came after my own diagnosis at age 35 last summer. My own journey to diagnosis and freedom from previous weight of medication-managed anxiety and depression has been amazing. I have gradually eliminated and am weaning off medications

Epilepsy and Steroids
While reading the site last night I came upon a post regarding the compatibility of anticonvulsants and steroids. I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 15, I'm 81 now. I'd had grand mal and petit mal seizures. When I was diagnosed with GCA in 2019, I'd been seizure free for over 40 years and was

ADHD Medication Costs
Is anyone else seeing big swings in medication costs month to month? I try not to stress over the price of medications because I consider them to be necessities. They help my son feel better and as a result, our family time is more peaceful on most days. Instead of stressing over the price, I tell

What's your first dose when starting out on Keppra?
Hi, I've just been told to switch from Lamotrigine to Keppra, but not given a starting dose. The neurologist said to head for 750mg x 2 per day, but no other details, then he retired!! . How has anyone else started? thanks

Switching from high dose Lamotrigine to Keppra
I'm currently on 700 mg Lamotrigine/day, but am still having a partial seizure every 3 to 4 weeks. It has been decided to swap me to Keppra from today. The consultant is putting me on 500mg Lamotrigine plus 2 x 500mg Keppra from today. (He'll increase the Keppra over the next few weeks) Has anybody ever

Starting Zoloft and a new job... when to take adderall again?
Hey yall! So I’ve been taking Adderall XR (15mg) and prescribed IR to take when needed for adhd (inattentive). The combo works well for me but my psych put me on Zoloft to get a handle on my depression. We tried wellbutrin which felt like magic but I was getting some of the serious/rare side effects

Inattentive ADD - trying to find right medication - stimulants make her defiant and avoid schoolwork, nonstimulants haven’t been successful
My 9yo daughter has inattentive ADD and we are struggling to find the right medication. I homeschool as well - so I see for myself how the different meds manifest. After daytrana patch (or adderall XR at a different time) - refuses to do schoolwork, is defiant to me and is rude to her little sister

Moving from Keppra to Lamotrigine.
I am just coming to the end of my 2nd week of starting to take Lamotrigine whilst still taking my regular dose of Keppra. The intention is to build up the Lamotrigine whilst weaning off of keppra over the next few weeks. Over the last few days I’ve started to feel dizzy, light-headed and fatigued which

My 8 yo son has ADHD, emphasis on impulsiveness and hyperactivity. For roughly the last 6 months, he has been awaking in the middle of the night and remaining awake for hours. Here's his background: At least 1-2 times per week, he will wake up and remain awake for several hours. Often it's because

Feeling confused
Recently diagnosed with adult ADHD-inattentive type. I was previously treated for depression by a nurse practitioner with no big difference in mood and constant daily mood swings. I just saw a psychiatrist and after evaluation she believes I have adhd and my mood swings only happen when I am very overwhelmed

New Member with ADHD
Hi everyone, I was diagnosed 3yrs ago at age 49. My Drs kept putting me on anti anxiety or anti depression medicines for years without any success. Finally sent me to a therapist who diagnosed me with ADHD. I was prescribed Adderall XR and it made such a difference. My husband was especially happy.
