Moving from Keppra to Lamotrigine.

I am just coming to the end of my 2nd week of starting to take Lamotrigine whilst still taking my regular dose of Keppra. The intention is to build up the Lamotrigine whilst weaning off of keppra over the next few weeks. Over the last few days I’ve started to feel dizzy, light-headed and fatigued which is very unsettling. Just wondered if anyone else who started moving over to Lamotrigine experienced similar symptoms?

Thanks Remos

Hi Remos,

I would have thought that the doctors/neurologist might have suggested Phenytoin if you are coming off Keppra, because I believe they do exactly the same job but Phenytoin has less side effects than any of the medications you are taking.

I take Phenytoin so I know a little bit but there again I'm not a doctor . I would discuss this with your doctors/neurologist before anything.
