I'm currently on 700 mg Lamotrigine/day, but am still having a partial seizure every 3 to 4 weeks. It has been decided to swap me to Keppra from today. The consultant is putting me on 500mg Lamotrigine plus 2 x 500mg Keppra from today. (He'll increase the Keppra over the next few weeks) Has anybody ever done this and could you give me some idea of how this will impact on my day to day life? Could it make the partial seizures worse? Or reaction to the doseage/combination of the two drugs?
Thanks

Hi Ollie, I take lamictal 200mg twice a day and keppra. I have recently just increased my keppra to 2000mg twice a day. It's been years since my meds were increased so I was more aware of side effects of the increase this time. I experienced an increase in tiredness and lethargic. Experienced bad form, especially in the mornings, small, silly things annoyed me. Little bit of anger. Tummy feels a bit irritated at times too. Atm this is all I have noticed. I am on my increased dose twice a day one week now so I feel the side effects are easing off. Hopefully. Wishing you good luck in your switch up of meds
Thanks, that's really reassuring to know. I really am scared of it making my seizures any worse. I was given my first prescription today but no information of the dose to start on. I've started on 250mg twice a day alongside 600 mg Lamotrigine. Just hope it doesn't have many side affects.
