Subcutaneous icd
Hi folks,I now have a date in October for a subcutaneous icd. The one with the lead not going in to the heart. As it is being implanted a year after my heart attack I presume I will be barred from driving for a month, not six months post op? Anyone had any problems after this procedure? I know I won't

Advisory letter Re Medtronic ICD.
I had an ICD fitted in 2018 and life has been great since then. However, a recent letter from Harefield Hospital informs me that the Medtronic device which I have has potential problems, in that there is a small possibility that the ICD may not deliver the full amount of energy if/when a shock is delivered

What to expect at my next appointment?
So I had my first appointment with a nurse at my GP surgery yesterday and hallelujah someone's actually listened to me! She has referred me to gynaecology. She's told me they might do a scan but will probably tell me to go on the coil as the only treatment I'll be offered is hormonal because of my age

Any advice
Hi all, I guess I’m here for some advice or just to know I’m not alone as I feel like I’m completely alone at the moment and either doctors don’t want to help me, or do want to help, but can’t! Bit of back story . . . I have always had awful menstruation pain, resulting in me being prescribed the

Post op advice
I'm 2 weeks post laparoscopy and I'm struggling quite a bit with feeling generally overwhelmed with everything. I initially went in thinking I had endo in 3 main areas, but my operation ended up being 2.5 hours longer than originally estimated and ended up having the following removed: - 4cm cysts -

Feeling anxious and panicky
I was diagnosed with heart failure 18 months ago and had an ICD inserted under my skin this April. This came on top of numerous other chronic health issues. I am 80 years old and have had to learn to accept all these difficulties. But last week I started with a bug (not covid) which has given me an horrendous

Missed miscarriage and endo
Hi warriors, Just wanted to share my story, because I feel so low and heartbroken, and I'm sure there are women here who can relate to my experience. The loss that comes with a miscarriage is hard enough, but then when I also have endo, it's that sinking feeling that my womb is just broken and it's

Mirena coil
Does anyone have experience of mirena coil? I'm approaching 50 and my GP has suggested switching to that from Gedarel (combined pill), which I've been on for years with no problems. I've never liked the idea of the coil but they won't prescribe Gedarel after 50... Hopefully I'll have reached the menopause

Help interpreting results & likelihood of diagnosis if I saw a private practitioner.
Good afternoon, I’m at my wit’s end and would very much appreciate help interpreting recent blood tests and symptoms. I previously posted a few weeks back with details of private tests carried out with Monitor my Health on 24/1/23. They were as follows: TSH 4.74 mu/L (0.27 - 4.2) FT4 13.9 pmol/

MRI scan with compatible pacemaker, CRT-D or ICD
I have a CRT-D device implanted which is MRI compatible. It looks like I might now need an MRI scan of my head - most likely under private health care. Does anyone know what extra arrangements, if any, are needed to have an MRI scan with an implanted heart device (one that is compatible with MRI scanners

6 weeks post excision surgery and still can’t walk far.
Hi, I’m 42 years old and I had a laparoscopy with four incisions 6 weeks ago. The surgeon said endo was severe and excised it from all of my reproductive organs and from my bladder, pelvic ligaments and an artery. They also removed endo cysts from both ovaries. Apparently everything was stuck together

Endo and Merina Coil
Hey ladies! I've just come back from my first gynaecology appointment. I've been told I have very common symptoms that point to my pain being endometriosis related (I already have pcos) I was under the impression I was there to discuss the laparoscopy my Dr referred me for, however my Gyno said that

Utter despair after failed fertility treatment
Hi everyone, I have been undergoing fertility treatment for over two years now. In this time we had three unsuccessful rounds of IUI. I have pcos so was told I had to have IUI first before the NHS would consider funding IVF. I had IVF last July and was at risk of OHSS so had to freeze all eight embryos
