Post Stent blockage ?
First time Post. I had a stent fitted 5 weeks ago (angina) everything seemed good but last few days I've had some on/off discomfort about 5 inches below my left shoulder blade. Yesterday despite pain relief it wouldn't go away so I rang the BHF Cardiac nurse and was advised to try GTN spray (despite

Signatures
I am starting to think that it would be extremely useful if people had "signatures" that could appear at the end of posts (less important on rep[lies). These could give the heart condition and the meds they are currently on. For instance mine would say:- awaiting quadruple bypass - isosorbide mononitrate

Update on Embarrassing Question- Fissure
Ok since I embarrassed myself once, I can do it again. What I thought was hemorrhoid pain turned out to be a rectal fissure. Ugh! I have a few questions if anyone has any insight. They want to use a nitroglycerin ointment. Has anyone used this. I noticed it can cause palpatations. My cardiologist

Passing out/fainting on flight
Hi, I am so hoping for some advice here or even just anyone who has experienced similar. Flew to Tenerife last Friday and during the flight passed out at least 5/6 times. My husband tells me as I have very little recollection that I was hot and clammy, nauseas , no colour, I could hear people around

Non-Obstructive CAD
So today, after diagnosis in Jan I had my angiogram and the news is good. Basically I have non-obstructive CAD, RCA is mildly blocked and the LAD has moderate blockage with two lesions- the consultant was not concerned about their location. In short I was told the latter is borderline but they don

Total Coronary Occlusion
I went to my GP with chest pain that I had been suffering from for a few months. The pain was on the right side of my chest and apart from one incident where it REALLY hurt, mostly it started in both sides of my jaw, then spread to both armpits and finally felt like I had just smoked too much. It would

Do you really need to take so many tablets after one angina attack?
My husband is working abroad and was taken to hospital last week with what has been diagnosed as angina but needs tests. That is scary enough being so far from home, but instead of giving him blood thinners (such as asprin) and a GTN spray as I understand is initially the response to a first attack he

ASCO Genitourinary Cancers Symposium (Hypoxia related mRNA biomarker to predict biochemical failure and metastasis)
This is very much of interest to me. PCa tumors run into trouble when they outgrow their blood supplies. Unfortunately, the cells respond to a shortage of oxygen (hypoxia) in such a way that current treatments become largely ineffective. The internet is full of bogus info. about cancer "hating oxygen
