I’m scared
I have had a history with my
iron
and my GP has assumed it was reactive, but I have solved the issue and the platelets remain the same. They are consistently over 450, highest it’s been is 512. I also have issues with my stomach….

Can stress or worries make a big difference in FBC numbers?
The platelets were nigh on 900 white cells 54 and Hgb was 122 two days ago, this was four weeks after two bags of packed RBC and an
iron
infusion. In the past if her platelets were higher than 400 to 500 she would be sleeping of an evening, but not this time.

update/ advice
I've had gtt twice 1st results negative and get the 2nd result today/tomorrow hopefully, I've also got low
iron
so been put on tablets for that also. I've also been given my date for planned section so hopefully in 6 weeks I will have my baby 🤞 unless anything changes significantly within scans.

Just got updated thyroid hormone results — see why I'm tired.
The
iron
panel is certainly much better, but not as high as I think it should be, but since this is my field, I will keep working on it. Serum zinc will take about a week to get back. B12 and vitamin D are very good / optimal for hypothyroid, so it's not low nutrients.

Clonidine - success with RLS anyone?
Evening team I have a query. As some of you may remember I was prescribed Buprenorphine two years ago by a neurologist for my restless limbs. I have a feeling I may have asked this question before, maybe not in one of my posts, (can't remember!) Does anyone out there take Clonidine for RLS? if

Iron issues (still)
Ferritin 39 (20-204) Serum
iron
18.6 (4.4-27.9) The previous test
iron
was 11, ferritin was 29. So not a huge improvement. Most my symptoms are better, except fatigue. I'm particularly exhausted first thing in morning and at night. Do I need to increase my
iron
dose?

Is it fair to keep cirrhosis a secret from family?
Next up imaging for a bleed due to low
iron
. Siblings and this parent want to keep this a secret from shared family business, community and ex of 34 years that relies on alimony . We’re supposed to grieve in private bc it’s not our story to tell and they don’t want to talk about it.

Blood test results - round 2
I’ve since had my parathyroid hormone levels tested plus B12,
iron
, as I have been feeling excessively fatigued (ironically I’ve felt much better over the last few days!). My parathyroid hormone level is 103 (range 15.0-68.0), described as ‘above high reference limit’.

My Results - Help please! 🤷♀️
Since having the bloods, I've been SI B12 Hydroxy for 4 weeks every other day, along with supplementing 40mg gentle
iron
per day. I started on A-Z multivits around 4 days ago.

Advice on folic acid
I have every confidence in the consultant I saw, and have had blood tests since to keep an eye on my
iron
levels , no acknowledgement from my gp regarding the letter the consultant sent to them.and to be honest have lost all faith in them.

New blood tests - advice welcome
I've struggled with the ferrous fumarate and would like to try another
iron
supplement that doesn't cause me stomach issues - is 3 Arrows Heme a good one to try? The search function here is tricky but I think some are finding this helpful?

First venesection done!
His consultants are hopeful that reducing the
iron
overload might reduce the stress on liver and pancreas and that some damage could be reversible.

vitamins etc and thyroid function
My son is 20 and has just had his TSH come in at 4.5 ( above range with medichecks)… I’m so reluctant to think he may need treatment for thyroid now as I feel sorry for him I guess and am trying to understand whether optimum levels of vits/
iron
etc could improve this score and make his TSH come down
