Prior iodine exposure and impact on thyroid function during controlled ovarian hyperstimulation: A prospective study
Women taking
iodine
for <6 months were four times more likely to achieve a live birth than women taking
iodine
for longer. Conclusions: Women taking
iodine
supplements for ≥6 months are less able to adapt to the thyroidal demands of COH, with responses comparable to LT4-dependent patients.

Watchful waiting
A few weeks ago I posted with a query regarding RAI or surgery to deal with a large non-toxic retrosternal goitre. Thank you to everyone that replied, I found your comments really helpful. This afternoon I saw another consultant who was a bit more forthcoming than the previous one. RAI wasn’t mentioned

There’s

Long term use of codeine as pain killer? I have been prescribed 30/500mgs of codeine co codamol for over 20 years severe pain.
I do know that should i have to stop this for any reason that i would experience a bad withdrawal BUT if my pain ever came to be under control without the use of these weak opiates how bad would the withdrawal be or have any of you came through it I know i am PHYSICALLY hooked on this - no doubt of

Hello I know this is not something I should be doing, but I have been reaching and begging the doctors for help with my chronic pain and they have really not been any help, I’ve finally been referred to a rheumatologist but the waiting list is so long. Anyway on one of my very bad days my friend offered

Is my FT4 too high to add T3?
According to my endocrinologist, the cough medicine did not have
iodine
in it so it should not effect my TSH. My question is, will taking the T3 push down my T4 more? She’s trying to suppress my tsh by adding T3 and to help eliminate symptoms.

SOD or Autoimmune
Saw a private heptologist last night. He has narrowed all my symptoms down to 2 possibilities: Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction (SOD) or Autoimmune Hepatitis I have to come off codeine completely, remove onions and wheat from my diet (and dairy but I'm vegan anyway) for 6 weeks and then reintroduce slowly

Burning legs
I want to appeal to all the knowledgeable RLS sufferers to see if they can help my dear husband who has been suffering from burning feet and legs. It has been diagnosed as a nerve trapped in lower spine which has been troublesome for years and is pretty wonky. He has had cortisone injections in the past
