My practitioner, who I am seeing privately has suggested that I get my
iodine
checked and have a thyroid ultrasound. Sadly my GP appears to know very little about thyroid function and providing myTSH falls within NHS guidlines thinks that any further tests are irrelevant.

Help please with blood results
Could it be
iodine
deficiency? But also got vitamins tested and one jumped out as out of range- folate. Here’s the other results, all designated normal range except folate.

Radiation for Graves..
I am seriously considering Radiation
iodine
and take my chances with hypothyroid. Has anyone hear had it done and did you feel better or worse? I suspect a lot of people who got better after it just dropped off the forum but thought I would ask. Appreciate your time. Kevin

RAI i would love to hear your experiences 😊
Hi i saw my Endo yesterday and he suggests i have RAI for my hyperthyroidism due to my Graves disease, i had a relapse FT4 76 and he thinks it was due to me being on 5mg Carbimazole daily. I was stable at 10mg daily but he tried to lower dose to see if he could get me totally off the meds...obviously

I’m on 125mg thyroxine and 30mg liothyronne I had graves and then RAI therefore I’m now hypo this 24 yrs

Hyperthyroidism- First Endo Appointment
Hi All, first appointment with my endocrinologist yesterday following diagnosis of hyperthyroidism in June this year. I’m looking for a bit of help as I feel a bit “bamboozled” with what he said. He explained that the best options were a thyroidectomy or RAI, and the RAI was the one he seemed to steer

Thought I finally had an answer for my pain
Had my laproscopy 14 weeks ago where they found endometriosis. I’ve just had my follow up with the consultant who said I had the tiniest amounts of endometriosis, I explained I still had lots of pelvic pain all on my right side and he said that the amount of endometriosis I had wouldn’t be causing this

New rationale for treatment
I'm guessing that maybe I was having a reaction to lucentis as well as
iodine
. If I need regular injections to maintain my vision, which is almost 20/20 and they feel like the last one that's fine with me.

What is your dosage after RAI?
Background: I have had graves for 17 years. I battled it successfully for 15 years with PTU but about 2 years ago I had RAI as I became hospitalised with neutropaeonia on both carbimazole and PTU. Since RAI I have had low energy and depression. My question is: What dosage are people on who have had

Not the norm RA symptoms, is anyone else experiencing the same?
It's been awhile since I last contributed here, although I read nras posts regularly. I'm 3 years into a rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis but I have never experienced the usual pain, redness, heat and swelling I read about. I've always had hip and pelvic pain that aches and burns, sometimes down my legs

#Confused
After a roller coaster of a year, diagnosed thyroid cancer, total thyrondectomy and RAI. I'm just trying to get my head around all the side affects of not having a thyroid and making sure my medication dosage is correct.

Codeine and Levothyroxine-ok to take?
Hi I have painful arthritis and my GP has just stopped prescribing Diclofenac which worked wonders but has some serious issues with safety. He’s prescribed Codeine instead but I didn’t ask if it interacted with Levothyroxine in anyway? Has anybody experienced issues with taking the 2 meds? Obviously
