My update, for mouth sores test.
If this doesn’t work I will have to have the
interferon
injection. Now, if I could get my pain sorted out for Sciatica i’ll Be happy 😁 🤗🤗 to everyone, Yvette X

New Zealanders, brilliant news for interferon
"I believe the drug company is due to stop manufacturing
interferon
alpha. However it is our understanding that a replacement product will be available (PEG-
interferon
) which tends to be longer lasting." I have a new lease on life yay 🤣

"Dry skin" and Pegasys
Pegasys is a recombinant alpha
interferon
(IFN-α) and as such it's an immune-system modulator that cranks up the immune system. Consequently it makes many autoimmune conditions WORSE. When I started Pegasys for my PCV I noticed a huge increase in dandruff.

Need advice
I am also on 75mg Aspirin and 135 mc Pegulated
Interferon
every three weeks. The reason for heart attack was not blood cloth but the narrowing of arteries. Now I have a problem with blood traces in my gut and have to have CT a colonoscopy.

Interferon shortage?
HU intolerant, anagralide ineffective on it's own, but very effective in combination with
Interferon
alpha 2a (roferon). Have just been told that the hospital pharmacy cannot get roferon from its suppliers any more. Next step, presumably, is to ask Haemo to prescribe something else (pegasys?)

Pegasys - possibly closer to slowing progression than anything else?
Hopefully this is not an irresponsible header since may raise false hopes, especially for those who can not tolerate Pegasys. However the quote is from a highly respected MPN specialist today. I saw him about 18 months ago and asked, if you were me, would you start Pegasys (I was coping on venesections

First experiences with Pegasys for Polythycemia Vera
(https://jhoonline.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s13045-017-0395-1) The advantage of pegylation is that attaching polyethylene glycol to the
interferon
slows down the pharmacokinetics, creating a less sharp Tmax so the side effects aren't as severe, and making it stay in the body longer.

ET since 2001, now anxious about changes in blood counts
My haematologist is switching me to
Interferon
, which I don't mind, but I'm feeling very anxious because he also suggested that my ET might be transforming to Myelofibrosis. He says it will take three months for the
Interferon
to work and then if necessary he will look at my bone marrow again.

Essential Thrombocythemia - Recent Diagnosis Interferon
I have been told by my consultant that I will commence with
Interferon
in a few weeks. It was at this point that the penny had dropped (that I do have an illness) and, without outwardly showing it to my family, have become extremely anxious.

Two side effects from Pegasys
Now that I've been on the Pegasys (45 mcg/ml) for 5 weeks I'm fighting two major side effects - itching and anxiety/restlessness and I'm wondering what others have learned. 1. Itching. Because itching (pruritis) is a common effect of PCV many patients think it's from the PCV. But the research literature

Ruxolitinib and aggressive squamous cell skin cancers.
I have a sister living in Paris who is helping me get Prof Kiladjian’s views as to whether its worth trying some form of
interferon
. Me, I’d rather have flu like symptoms than an aggressive SCC. Rachel

Spa treatments
Hi quick question, I have et jak 2 on aspirin and
interferon
once a week 45mg. My husband bought me a spa stay in for my bday. Me and my friends booked full body massage. I just found out I can't have full body massage without doctors note. I was all ready to go in the treatment room.
